I've just done my meal plan for the week - I know it's an approach that's not for everyone but it is helping me use up what I have rather just adding to my food mountain and keeping me out of a rut. With the exception of Friday when my son is coming home and has requested the leftover lasagne, I've decided to keep back my pre-made (a mix of bought and "here's one I made earlier") for the following week when I two days of hospital tests and physio so know I won't feel much like cooking that week. Thanks to PN "corned beef hash" is making an appearance on Wednesday though the spare will be frozen. So far I'm having lamb with cauli cheese, cabbage and green beans, chicken goujons ( not made these in ages and ages), pasta with mushrooms and peppers and a pork chop with sauteed potatoes, veg and gravy. Has anyone else decided what they are having this week or will you just be taking it as it comes?0

I rarely know 10 minutes before I eat what I'll be having at each meal
I could plan all I liked, but I'd simply not fancy that when it came to the time.
I've got food - my plan is: when you fancy it, wander into the kitchen, open the fridge door and see if there's anything lurking ... open the freezer and see if there's anything you fancy .... open the food cupboard and see if there's anything that you fancy .... and finally ... open the wall cupboard and see if stuffing or noodles or instant custard appeal0 -

I'm giving up this thread. Since it has started I have put on pounds.
Love the sound of PNs pineapple shortbread. Once a month I give up cooking for one and cook for 70. I use to run a church lunch club but a couple of years ago I 'retired'.
Ho hum.... you know how it goes, some one has had to give up so I'm back to doing it but only once a month. Anyway, I reckon they would love pineapple shortbread for pudding. I will put it on my list.
Today I had a sudden fancy for a tuna mayonnaise roll. Can't think why, tuna is not a thing I'm overly fond of, but I had to answer the siren's call so went up to the little Co-op in the village for a tin of tuna. While wandering around the shop I chanced upon some reduced price crisps. I love crisps but in the interest of of a thinner waist and a fatter purse I don't let myself indulge. However these were Christmas Dinner flavour. This intrigued me. What flavour would this be? Turkey and stuffing? Sprouts? Bread sauce? Christmas Pudding and Brandy Butter?
Naturally I had to investigate further so bought a bag. It was a LARGE bag.
Well, it certainly tastes of something but I can't say that it was particularly Christmassy.. Frankincense and Myrrh maybe.
Anyway, I am bravely working my way through the bag. Don't thank me, it's all in the line of duty.

Lol PN by the time I`d have done all that I would have forgotten why I was in the kitchen in the first place.Slimming World at target0 -

No absolute meal plan for me caronc but I am confident that it will include a turkey roast dinner (tomorrow) then probably some leftovers from that on Monday then at some point probably a fishcake, chilli maybe and some curry or something else in a bag in the freezer
Maybe by next week I will actually start to see some space in it:cool:
Pizza was lovely ..skipped the egg as it was actually quite a hefty meal in its self. Will no doubt be having a baileys liquid pudding soon though0
