Thanks for the shortbread recipe caronc.
I actually think it probably is cheaper to buy, but might have a bash at making some myself one day.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
At school dinners, occasionally there'd be a dessert that was a thin layer of shortcake, topped with crushed pineapple and a creamy topping (probably angel delight rather than actual cream).
Loved that
But I don't like shortbread on its own.0 -

Can I also request that in future the talk is about meat, poultry and fish, as I certainly won't have cravings for any of them.....please, for the sake of my waistline? Thanks for the shortbread recipe caronc.

Yum that sounds lovely.
I've been extremely lazy today. I ended up just having toast earlier so of course I'm now munching. Fiery Salsa popcorn - it was a free sample and I'm not sure I like it, one bite I do the next not sure so will no doubt finish the packet deciding
I've decided I am going to have the ribs later, I'm going to chuck them in a pot, with some peppers and onions, a couple of tablesppons of brown rice, some water and some of the leftover salsa and see what happens.........
If I can motivate myself I'll cook some frozen cauliflower and prep a wee dish of cauliflower cheese with the leftover white sauce to have with the lamb tomorrow0 -

I remember a dessert like that from school days too...amazing the things that come back to you when your memory is jogged!'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

You know that's so not going to happen :rotfl:Glad you're feeling better your "clootie" sounds lush
So I can see.Thank you, certainly a lot better today, and the clootie and custard just hit the spot. Been a long time since I've made proper custard, as never bought any in the almost 7 years since I've been here! Enough left for tomorrow, and hopefully that would have been my sweet craving over, until PN started.
Oh no.....that crushed pineapple on shortcake sounds lush. I've got a tin in the cupboard, now just to make Caronc's shortbread, but no cream, finished the last of it in my custard, so will definitely have to wait until I go shopping again, and hopefully will have forgotten all about this. Thank goodness I am full up after all that stodge earlier on. You lot are a bad influence!0 -

I tend to eat healthily most of the time so enjoy the odd indulgence. On that note there is 1/2 bottle of rather nice red wine that was opened last night looking for a home, as red wine doesn't keep would be a shame to waste it.......

Just call me Fatty 2 Dinners
Earlier I made something ... and my notes said I needed to use more meatballs next time.... and later I thought I'd make it again (but noodles instead of rice).
So I opened the box of frozen meatballs and the numbers didn't fit .... the choices were:
- serve another inadequate portion, leaving a portion in the box for another day
- serve a larger portion today, leaving a seriously undersized portion for a future day
- just eat the s0ddin lot because at least that's another box emptied from the freezer
So I did the lot ... plus double the other stuff to match the new quantity of balls ... and then a whole pack of noodles ... and then some more cheeky veg. Splash of hot chilli sauce and some chilli powder.
Well ... it was a whole bowlful. I weighed it, 530 grams.
Worra porker.
It was gorgeous though.0 -
