I don't remember the Tesco one but I do remember St. Ivel 5 pints in a bottle like that. My mum always had a bottle in the cupboard and it used to go on caravan holidays with us. I've no idea if it ever got used or just got hoicked back out every year LOL:)

Dream topping - is that the stuff you used to get in the "Bird's Trifle" packets? Another something that used to feature on caravan holidays that and tinned Nestle Cream:)

    Yep. I'm really into 60s-70s-80s food :)
I bought it in for Xmas, but it ended up at the back of the cupboard and I kept thinking "should get that out" ... and today I did.

I used the Nestle milk to make that quiche the other week, in the slow cooker :)

I think, for many of us, it's been refreshing to read that others exist on crumpets .... and endless meals of the same thing ... and struggle with the same annoyances re price/volumes etc.

    :)

I gave up .... I have many things I COULD make .... in the end I've opted for opening an instant noodle packet and throwing in some peas....

I'm now about to eat that directly from the jug I cooked them in, using the fork I was stirring them with :)

You've just stated one of my OH's go to meals and he also eats it right out of the pyrex jug he microwaved it in! He buys the beef instant noodles a lot.
Crumpets, muffins, bread/toast, pasta, potatoes etc. They are the main parts top his meals. Or the whole meal sometimes.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

Caronc - over 5000 posts, who'd have thought? What a lot of blethers we are. :rotfl: As PN said, it's amazing how many of us there are, juggling with eating the same thing, trying to use things up. The one good thing is, that as a rule, we're not having to cater for others, so can please ourselves.
Sorry that you are not feeling so good, hopefully it will pass quickly.

HH Thanks for mentioning the raspberry Tesco delight. Will get DD to see if Asda do one, as she gets home delivery from there. Otherwise will wait until am over later in the year.

MISTSTM - glad you got the wok, but did notice that you didn't tell us the price, hope it wasn't too eye-watering!
I did use to have an Ikea one too, but left it for DD when we moved, and bought a new one, which is family sized. What I was thinking of, I have no flipping idea, as I can't recall ever using it. The ceramic one I bought is a little one, enough for two people....I always overestimate stir fries, and there is usually enough for two meals, doesn't take up half the hob, and fits nicely in the drawer with the other pans.

PN - Totally agree regarding frozen desserts, would be better if they were sliced at factory level. Do Iceland not do a variety box of individual desserts? There is something at the back of my mind about this. Perhaps it was only around Christmas time?

Never did manage to get out and get fruit yesterday, but bagged a free apple and a pear, which will go nice with some mandarins, cherries and grapes that I already have. Going to chop it all up, before I head out this morning....got a long day ahead of officialdom with a friend. Will be too exhausted when I get back to do anything, and the heat is going up, which doesn't help. Will be grabbing something to eat when out. Fruit salad and yoghurt later on will be lovely.

Never was keen on dream topping myself, would rather have cream. Long life cream here, but recently found a local clotted cream.....it's rather nice on a scone with strawberries. Luckily strawberry season has finished, so will avoid until next year.
