PN I think half the problem these days is that there's too much choice which ends up crippling us with indecision if that's how you're naturally wired.

    Good morning everyone,
Thank you for the birthday wishes.:A
I had a great day my son made fab curries :D, the company was excellent I received some lovely thoughtful gifts. My friend excelled herself by baking an "allotment" birthday cake. The detail was superb and it tasted wonderful too.:D

caronc - Glad that you had a good day. It sounds like your son has inherited your love of cooking.

That cake looks amazing, I could just do with a slice of that now :). Although I can bake, I can't do cake decoration like that. I lack both the skill and imagination :(

Birthday cake looks amazing Caronc. So glad to hear that you had a great time.

I don't do baking at all, the odd scone or clootie dumpling, but that's about it. No cakes whatsoever. Last time I baked a cake was for my daughter's 4th birthday, and that was only because I forgot to order one. She's now 30!

Far too hot to do anything today, just hung up two loads of washing, and had to have a seat in the shade with a cuppa. Been living off of salads for the past few days, just can't be bothered cooking at all. Only thing that I have done is boil some eggs, and make bread in the BM.
Fridge freezer now repaired, needed some component or other. Glad that I did get the repair man out, cost around £67, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new frost free one.

Caronc That cake looks fabulous! I used to bake a lot but don't as much now as my waistline doesn't need it ;)

At work again for me so no breakfast, chicken sandwich, kiwi and a yoghurt for lunch. I did bring some soup in too but the microwave in the kitchen appears to be broken so I won't have that! Tea is going to be a freezer surprise which means having a look and seeing what I fancy - feeling fish, onion rings, chips and peas so far - will see what I'm in the mood for when I get home. I was going to be going to my daughter's but she isn't feeling well and cancelled poor thing.

ETA: I have just been informed that there is another kitchen in one of the other showrooms so I can have my soup - happy days!

Ah well as they say round here "back to old clothes and porridge" or LO curry and cake;).

That's me back to CFO until next Saturday. I suspect I might freeze the LO curry, there isn't a huge amount of LOs so not a problem to use up and my sister might want some when pops round to collect her car. I'll see if I CBA cooking something different later.

I can bake but don't have the patience to learn how to decorate to that level. The level of detail and variety of teeny fruit and veg she made was superb and each was recognisable for what it was. What's not see clear is in the middle as a climbing rose bush with tiny mini roses each one perfect. :) For my 50th she made me a croquembouche which used 150 HM profiteroles filled with lemon cream and coated in carmel- it was stunning:D

"croquembouche" had to Google that and now I know why I have never seen or eaten one. Well done her

Got up early enough but somehow the "spark" seems to be a bit low today, not ill just not A1, more P4 and a bit wobblier.

Wonderd if low sugar was the problem, not that I have ever known anything about that except reading it on here. Thus two slices of ginger marmalade toast for breakfast. Made no difference

Decided to have another easy day, no grass cutting again. Just the Asda mooch provided one YS quiche / flan which may be dinner either today or Monday

Lunch I pushed the boat out, HM baguette pizza, using tips found on CFO. Bit faffy but I do like it when a cheese sarnie is too much of the "same old same old". Plus it started making inroads into some YS mushrooms I have had for a few days, and some of the sundried toms in oil sitting in the fridge forever

Dinner, probably LO yesterday Hunters chick & frozen chips, plus last survivors of Father's day Ferro chocs

Sun's out sporadically, may just get hose out & water the beans. Be a shame to loose them at this stage due to idleness. Rain due midweek they say so may save a job later on

PS Just had a thought, the P4 could be too much coffee. I normally only drink tea because coffee upsets my tum & I sometimes get dizzy if I have one out. I normally only use instant and only one cup a a day because of that, but the recent weather I switched to squash or coffee

I started off watching the grand prix but must have nodded off I have just woken up and it's nearly over :(

Breakfast was some yoghurt and berries. This time natural yoghurt though, because I forgot to buy the Greek yoghurt.

Lunch was a cheese and pickle sandwich with salad, the same as yesterday, and a KitKat.

Dinner will be turkey casserole, currently in the slow cooker. I made it to use up some more odds and ends that I found in the fridge.

I have made a purely indulgent cardamom rice pudding, that I let go cold and I will stir through some clotted cream and then have that with some sliced mango that I got y/s this morning. :)

I hope that you are all having a good day.
