I like pitta bread toasted until really crispy and dipped in spicy or cheesy baked beans if that's any help.

Productive day in the garden - thankfully mainly sitting down stuff:) but I'm bushed now so dinner will be an easy option of gammon steak baked with pineapple, corn cob and HM wedges. I enjoyed my lunch today I had crackerbread topped with loads of thinly sliced radishes, peppered beef and coleslaw a nice change from a sarnie or baguette. I also had a couple of apricots that were a tad tart so need to get these out of the fridge to ripen. I had popped them in there as I had plums in the fruit bowl to use up and didn't want them all to be ripe at once.:)

Youngest dd is here for the next day or so and had scrambled egg on toast for breakfast. a salad lunch while out shopping and wanted a light evening meal using up the fresh chicken breast in the fridge.

Used a handful of frozen chopped onion and mixed peppers which I sauteed, added diced chicken, a teaspoon of tarragon, seasoning and cooked for about fifteen minutes. Then added some chicken stock and let it cook down while pasta shapes boiled. Finally added a couple of tablespoons of lower fat creme fraiche, stirred for a few minutes and then added pasta.

It turned out really tasty and made three bowls, one of which will be put in lidded container in the fridge for tomorrow.

Bought a brisket for tomorrow as there will be three of us here. Can be eaten hot or cold with roast potatoes and green veg or with a salad or potato salad. Will offer to give dds some to take home to save them some time.

How about Tilly the trolley? ;)

If we're going to name our trollies.... I don't want/like Trolley Dolley really ... I need to think of a better name before it gets set in concrete.

Tea ended up as: scrambled eggs (why the f*** didn't I remember poached?), sausages (bought this morning), beans and hash browns (will the packet EVER end? I'd guess there's 6 remaining).

Elona Your chicken dish sounds lovely was it fresh or dried tarragon? I can only get dried around here and it just won't grow for me....:(

Brisket is one of my favourite cuts either slow roasted or cooked rare in the sous vide. :D Have you tried salted or pickled brisket it is so lovely sliced thinly in a salad or sandwich? Few butchers seem to sell the salted one nowadays but it was a regular sight when I was wee for butchers to brine their own and would fish the joint out of a barrell. Thankfully the on-line butcher I use makes it and I have one in the freezer but it's a bit big for CFO so need find an excuse to cook it for folk in such a way that there are plenty of leftovers. ;)

Yes, we've got to give our trolleys names, you will have to pick a name before trolley dolley does stick :)

Your tea sounds nice, much better than mine :( That packet of hash browns does seem to be a bit never ending. Eventually you will get through them though :)

I had cod in the end with cauliflower, broccoli, new potatoes and I made some parsley sauce, just to make it a bit more appealing really. I didn't fancy veg but it needed to be used up. Tomorrow I am going to make sure that I have something I really fancy.

You must understand I didn't "choose" it.... I knew I wanted one and investigated the prices/designs... then I thought I'd wait a bit because of the price. But I put it on my list of things to watch out for at car boots .... and spotted one, so picked it up.

I figured a car boot price to see how it went was best for me to not waste heaps more money buying/choosing one I liked the look of etc if I were never to use it.... but it's turned out to be a joy and a treat to use and own.

    :)

So I'd not wish to be lumbered with any name based on this one.

There are so many pretty patterns aren't there.

I'll probably buy myself one I "like" for Xmas... or in the January sales ... or sometime.

(I should say ... it's not tartan. It is a respectable pattern/colour, just not what I'd have chosen if I were paying full price). This one cost me £4.

Superb idea trying a decent priced one from a car boot first! Wouldn't it be great if we could do that with more things :)
