That sounds lovely. I might do something similar later but doubt the local shop will have asparagus (maybe smoked salmon).

Mince and chicken is defrosting and dishwasher is loaded and will brave the shop later.

Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
    Preemie hats - 2.

Morning everyone and I thought I was an early riser LOL or more accurately my elderly pooch is:(
I need to be really careful with chocolate as caffiene is one of my major condition triggers and I'm very fond of very dark chocolate so can only risk a couple and not on an empty tummy
Too early to be thinking about cooking for one here too need at least another two mugs of coffee (decaff lol) to even contemplate toast:)

Whoknowskt89 why do you need to count your fish?:)

In one of my tanks I've got fish that breed like mad so it's a double check I'm not overstocking the tank and that the other fish aren't dying/got problems.
The other it is mainly to check I've not got anything wrong/missing a load. Catching missing fish early can be the difference between something wiping all my tank stock and only losing a few.

Cheese and crackers for lunch most enjoyable and has the advantage that you don't have to decide how much you want before you start.

    Haha sorry!
I'll make you fajitas if you come and count all my tropical fish? Currently an impossible task!

Counting fish? The weirdo in me kind of wants to do that :o. I'd be there forever though trying. When younger I tried to count the fish in my dads pond - there are three levels to that thing and at the time fish in all three. We still have no idea how many fish are in that pond even though there's only fish in two.

I'm waiting to have coffee right now. On days I don't work I have as many as six mugs (tea, coffee or a mix of the both) before I even think of eating, usually fruit.
I have a soup for lunch later.
We are going out later. I will take some vegan pizza (cooked when the koftas were yesterday to save on oven energy. Two koftas, houmous, tofu, some salad stuff. I'll take a bag of crisps for a treat. Bought a six pack of ready salted yesterday for just 32p, I think that's the cost of a pack normally.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

I will probably spend all day reading the take away menu deciding what to have, then as usual, change my mind at the last minute

I do that - but then always buy the same stuff.

Trip to the butcher's .... went to the green grocers
I think there's a butcher about a 4-5 mile round trip from here, but no greengrocers that I've spotted in over 4 years of driving around the area.
    knickers
If you feel you can be bothered, might be worth phoning the police on 101 to report them - in case somebody's been having them nicked.

Of course, you do then run the risk of no crime having been reported/committed and you feel you sound "a bit odd" about phoning it in.

Trip to the butcher's was successful, got a bit of topside which will make a nice roast tonight and provide some meat for the week. Also got a couple of sweet chilli sausages and a couple of basil and tomato ones. Not had the latter before so hopefully they're as good as their others, they're very proud of their sausages although many butcher's tend to be in my experience.

Also went to the green grocers, got some coxes orange apples and some oranges that look a lot nicer than the ones in mr T last week. Also got some beets to boil up, I do like making beetroot and goats cheese salad, although currently don't have any goats cheese. Do have brie, Wensleydale and a sage derby though so not sure I want to buy more.

Off the subject of food when walking down the lane between the villages there was a whole load of knickers scattered across the path, which is odd enough in itself but it's the third time this year it's happened and I don't recall it happening previously in the 4 or so years I've been here. The first time it happened I figured someone had a bag of washing split on the way to/from the laundrette/dry cleaners and didn't want to stop and pick them up, but that can't keep happening surely?

Off to the library now, might treat myself to a cake in the baker's whilst I'm out.

Remember a similar thing happening years ago, kept finding knickers and bras on path at the back of my house, turned out to be a group of kids raiding washing lines.

instead of cooking for one cook for 4 then freeze 3 dinners. this should give enough dinners to eliminate the need to cook for several weeks once you have built up a stock

Well the knicker nicker might be someone that has it as a sideline - there are people out there (ahem...) so I understand that buy pre-used knickers. :rotfl:. Ohmegawd - the next thing I know will be someone will be complaining at my not being politically correct again:rotfl:.

PN - can I have the 1960's/70's back when you've finished with them please (ie your 1960's/70's tastebuds). One has to spend half the time in the 2010's cooking up plenty of eggs in order to find all those "eggshells to walk carefully on":rotfl::snow_grin. Wasn't it nice when one didn't have to worry about whether someone/somewhere (0.01% of population or whatever) would have got out of bed the wrong side and decided to "be offended" by a remark that wasn't intended to be offensive at all......

But I'll settle for the 1980s or even the 1990s if PN wants to keep the 60s/70s....

Having duly rapped my own wrists for possessing an SOH....

.....and I've hauled a UFO out of the freezer and it's currently sitting on a metal saucepan (as per tip on here the other day) whilst I wonder whether it will have defrosted in time for dinner tonight? I think it's some sort of burger???
