Cooking for one

  • I ended up with a mate popping over and after she cut my hair (for free) I told her to get her boyfriend over and I'll cook for them so ended up doing a proper dinner from scratch (spicy veggie pasta) but have gone through nearly a whole fresh loaf.
Got enough left over for dinner tomorrow or Monday too
  • ...and re the defrosting faster....that burger thing I took out of the freezer and put on a metal saucepan must have defrosted in about 2 hours I think. So - yep...that tip does work...

Oh the joy of not cooking for one...I didn't even have to wash up either, my friend did it :A

A very rare joy: having a take away is not to be sniffed at when budgeted and planned for :D (it's at least 3 months since my last 'not cooked by me/for one' meal).

I had onion bhaji, poppadoms and accompanying sauces, chicken madras and a nann bread...I may be slightly poorer monetarily but all the richer for some good company and food cooked by someone else :)

Back to beans on toast for one tomorrow :p

Morning glad those who were entertaining friends had a good time:D

My slow cooked ribs were lovely such a long time since I've had them that way, going to slow cook a beef olive today and make some root mash to go with it. Will no doubt have mash left but happy to have that in the freezer:) I've 3 spears of asparagus left so might repeat yesterday's scrambled eggs or poach an egg if I CBA;)
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday:D

I had a bad night's sleep ... nothing to do with the vast amounts of chocolates I scoffed of course :)

This morning I've had two crumpets/marg, but I feel groggy.... so no idea what I'll end up having later.

Sounds as though some fresh air and/or a nap might be in order :) I've been to the bin (I do have a very long garden LOL) so now off for a lie down with my kindle :D

Just fished the last 2 chunks of chicken out of my Chicken Madras for breakfast...I had a take away last night don't ya know :p;)

But...what can I do with the left over madras sauce. There is a reasonable amount left but I'm not sure what I can do with it.

Any help/ideas will be very gratefully received from my fellow 'oners' :D

    TIA

I would just pour it over some chips...there is little that pleases me more than curry and chips :) but then I am common Im sure someone will give you a far better option :D

Food tonight is the rest of the turkey mash or roast cant decide yet and peas. Apple crumble and squirty cream for pud :j

Doing my most favourite thing this morning which is watching cooking programmes ..its pure torture as a singley as I know when I see something I like it will be far too much just for me ...doesn't stop me though I also have a subscription for 2 cooking magazines...Food !!!!!! :rotfl: Today I am really wanting to make all the recipes on Sunday Brunch but I think I will satisfy myself with some carrot croquettes which just look gorgeous :)
