Cooking for one

I ended up with a mate popping over and after she cut my hair (for free) I told her to get her boyfriend over and I'll cook for them so ended up doing a proper dinner from scratch (spicy veggie pasta) but have gone through nearly a whole fresh loaf.
Got enough left over for dinner tomorrow or Monday too0 -
...and re the defrosting faster....that burger thing I took out of the freezer and put on a metal saucepan must have defrosted in about 2 hours I think. So - yep...that tip does work...0

Oh the joy of not cooking for one...I didn't even have to wash up either, my friend did it :A
A very rare joy: having a take away is not to be sniffed at when budgeted and planned for(it's at least 3 months since my last 'not cooked by me/for one' meal).
I had onion bhaji, poppadoms and accompanying sauces, chicken madras and a nann bread...I may be slightly poorer monetarily but all the richer for some good company and food cooked by someone else
Back to beans on toast for one tomorrow'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -

Morning glad those who were entertaining friends had a good time:D
My slow cooked ribs were lovely such a long time since I've had them that way, going to slow cook a beef olive today and make some root mash to go with it. Will no doubt have mash left but happy to have that in the freezer:) I've 3 spears of asparagus left so might repeat yesterday's scrambled eggs or poach an egg if I CBA;)
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday:D0 -
Remembered I'd taken a wee tub of home made pate from the freezer LO from the batch I made at Christmas so now happily munching on toast and pate with a large :coffee: think today could end up a munchy day as I'm not usually hungry this early:eek:0

I had a bad night's sleep ... nothing to do with the vast amounts of chocolates I scoffed of course
This morning I've had two crumpets/marg, but I feel groggy.... so no idea what I'll end up having later.0 -

Just fished the last 2 chunks of chicken out of my Chicken Madras for breakfast...I had a take away last night don't ya know
;)
But...what can I do with the left over madras sauce. There is a reasonable amount left but I'm not sure what I can do with it.
Any help/ideas will be very gratefully received from my fellow 'oners'
TIA'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

Doing my most favourite thing this morning which is watching cooking programmes ..its pure torture as a singley as I know when I see something I like it will be far too much just for me ...doesn't stop me though I also have a subscription for 2 cooking magazines...Food !!!!!! :rotfl: Today I am really wanting to make all the recipes on Sunday Brunch but I think I will satisfy myself with some carrot croquettes which just look gorgeous0
