Interesting. Hope you can pick up more hours if your colleague goes.

  • So colleague is definitely leaving job 2, will wait and see what that brings.

Big two back to school tomorrow, but little two have inset. Planning on having a good go at the Girls room, pulling out the spare bed (it's one of those that folds down under her divan) has meant a whole load of stuff has been unearthed and she has been warned to clean it up, she hasn't, so me and a bin bag will attack tomorrow:rotfl:

Next week I have Wednesday morning off, so am planning on finishing the mist coat I started on the new plaster in the lounge and then helping oh lay the tiles in the downstairs toilet. We cut them two weeks ago, so just need to make up the adhesive and lay them when the kids are all at school. I have also decided on the paint colour for the walls in the lounge so need to top up my b&q card (do it through a scheme at work and get a discount) so I can buy that as it's on offer ATM.

I have an appointment with nationwide on Fri for the big two to open accounts for them. The Wild ones paying in book came for his junior ISA, so I paid £100 in as a starting point, still not sure what way to go with that, but planning on £500 in it by the end of the year.

I am thinking of using my pay from job two this month on getting a furniture delivery from IKEA for the front room. Means I can get everything out of the conservatory ready for the better weather. Plasterer coming to finish the walls on the 9th of march. Also need to budget for a day trip for me and oh on the 12th.

Anyway enough plans, need to get on and finish the roast. :o

  • So today I spent some time in the Girls room, threw out two binbags of junk and bagged up a bin bag of soft toys. These are in my wardrobe, she has a month to notice I have pruned them and then they are out of here :rotfl:

Me, oh and the little two took a trip to town to close two dormant bank accounts. Came out with a total of £26 so went to the sweet shop and McDonald's for lunch. I rushed to work as was super late, got there and told I was supposed to be on holiday  I thought I had none left and think I cancelled some hours at half term so a colleague could be off instead and must have shifted the hours to today and not written in my diary. So came home. Couldn't change the day as our holiday year ends next week and we have someone off most days using up holiday.

So relaxing afternoon in the end. Tomorrow I am in job 2 for 5 hours, so going for an early night I think.:T

How annoying! I hate things like that. I was supposed to have a viewing coming late yesterday, but they still hasn't arrived 30 minutes after they were due. So I called and they said they weren't coming and had run out of time! Nice thanks then :)

  • It throws everything out doesn't it Bob?

Today I got an early start so I was home by 1.30 which was nice.

Got soaked picking the little two up from school, then had a tip to the shop to get things for pancakes. Me and the kids enjoyed them, oh had pizza as he doesn't like pancakes.

Getting back into a bedtime routine after half term has been a struggle for the little two. The Wierd one has particularly struggled with the Wild ones behaviour at bedtime. He has been getting very anxious and weepy and we haven't been able to figure out why, today he finally told me what was bothering him so going forward we need to manage this better.

So a new month, a new budget in YNAB. I managed to amend my massive error from earlier in the month which is fab, so now it all balances nicely.

Spent some time painting this morning and oh laid some tiles in the toilet, although a massive row happened as he had no idea what he was doing and i told him to do some research on YouTube last night and he didn't :rotfl: but all done now, just need to grout at the weekend. Also get the wallpaper off the final third of the front room ready for the plasterer next week. Topped up the b&q card so can grab the paint tomorrow now I know which colour I want.

Just totaled up the nsd from Feb, 15  mainly because I had no money to spend. And spent most of my budget for the month in IKEA :rotfl:

Anyway I think I will aim for 10 for march, today wasn't one as topped up the b&q card, but tomorrow should be and Friday too.

You're always so busy, I'm exhausted just reading. Well done on the NSDs, albeit that they were out of necessity!

Been a stressful couple of days here. Received an odd letter asking me to go into the job centre for an interview to help me 'get a job'? When my oh applied for jsa we gave all the relevant details in, including copies of my payslips, have never told them I was out of work. They sent us an award for his JSA and we assumed it was correct. Looking into the amount he gets it is looking like they amended it in September to a slightly higher amount (I do vaguely remember a letter) and for some reason seem to think that I lost my job too?! I am at a bit of a loss tbh. Panicked because if this is the case we will have been massively overpaid for the last six months, through no fault of our own  I have done some research on this and apparently as long as we havent lied to them or not told them about something it should just be an admin error.

So we are going to go into the interview together with all my payslips and see what has happened. We niavely assumed we were receiving a bit extra because my income is so low (the letter sort of sounded that way) and our tax credits were put up at the same time. I am annoyed for not double checking, but because we knew we hadn't done anything we assumed it was all above board. The interview is in 10 days time and we are not due another payment of JSA so are going to wait until then rather than ringing up. Have not had a good experience yet of calling a government department, so hopefully meeting someone face to face we can actually get some answers as to what the hell is going on!

So no overpayment will be happening this month as it looks like we may end up owing DWP around 1k, which is super annoying as one more overpayment would have taken us to under 17k total debt

Really sorry to hear that. I really hope it's in your favour and not going to cause you lots of problems. It sounds like nothing has been made clear by them anyway.
