Drawing a line under the debt

So last night I had a lovely relaxed me out with an old friend (used my 20% off again). But I came home on a bit of a downer, feing totally flat atm, debt busting has become a bit of a struggle, and I am feeling a bit burnt out with all the working and not being able to use any of the money for home improvements like was originally planned before the job loss.
I just need to get over it though and think of the good things. We are all healthy, it's only money, my plans ARE working out, although slowly and I just need to be patient. I have a day off tomorrow and mil is coming on Monday so I will have some time to relax then.
Anyway onwards and upwards I suppose.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
Nsd today. Been tidying to try and get things looking ship shape for my mil, she wouldn't say anything if it wasn't tidy, but I do like to have it looking half way decent :rotfl:
Took the little two to my mums this afternoon, gave them a chance to run around the garden for a bit.
Tomorrow I am in work from 1.30, it I think it is supposed to be really nice tomorrow so I am hoping to get out for a bit in the morning. Not much more sorting to do and she arrives while I am at work so I want to get out with the kid for a bit. Early start will be neededDebt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -

Thanks Bob, I am sure it's just a bit of a down phase, not helped by oh getting the possible opportunity for an interview and then.......Nothing. seems some wires must have got crossed between the recruiter and the company because it went from 'yes can you get to London for an interview today' which oh couldn't, agreed to the next day, reorganised everything to do it, to 'oh we will get back to you' and now nothing. Soooks like that hasn't panned out which is super frustrating. He is going to chase it today I think, but considering they were interviewing on Wednesday it would seem that it wasn't meant to be.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0

Sometimes I feel like I am swimming against the tide! Kids have broken the spare bed, am beyond angry at them tbh
On the financial front I have decided to chuck £500 of our saved holiday money into a junior ISA for the Wild one. He was born after the child trust funds were wound down, all the others have one with around that in, and i feel that we owe him! I have enough and so I have applied for one tonight with nationwide so will get that properly sorted this week.
My emergency fund is sitting at £500, so I am going to transfer that to a new savings account so I can't 'see' it on my internet banking and start saving again for another £500. Once it's at £1000 I will stop saving and will throw it at the debt.
I feel a bit more settled with this decision, it may mean my overpayments maybe a little less over the next few months, but knowing I have these savings goals sorted means I feel a bit better about things.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
Oh lord dare I ask how they did that??
What a pain about the interview as well. I do know what that's like. Have had so many times recently where I feel things are about to take off and then just nothing......It does mess with your head a bit." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Bob, just too many children on the bed
So yesterday was a nice day, got out early for a job, back by 10, went into town and all the boys got haircuts. The Wild one threw me by asking for short hair (his is collar length and he has hated getting it cut and always says he wants to keep it long). I wasnt prepared for that so I said if he still wanted it short in the summer we will get it done then. The Wierd one went all special when we got to the hairdresser, he has never had an issue with it and always gone in happily, this time he had a moment and was not happy. But it needed doing, i think it's becoming more of a sensory issue for him as he is getting older, he certainly wasn't comfortable, but I am a firm believer in ansuring he does these things while minimising any issues he has. So we had a chat after and he actually hurt his ear when he fell off the broken bed and it seems it was mostly because of that. Anyway all done, the Girl is having hers cut on Saturday.
Today I did three hours at job 2, and am now at my long 8hour shift in job 1. Trying to forecast what wages I will be due from job 2 over the next few months and it's looking on the high side so that's nice. Hoping it pans out. Hoping to get into town on sat and taking the big two to open a proper bank account now they are old enough. My mum gave my £100 each for them a long time ago so need to sort that out for them properly, and it's the Girls birthday next month so was thinking of giving her money as she wants to buy some boots. She is going to be a teenager, where have those years gone

Horray for high salaries!
Hope you find a good account for the kids. So many pay peanuts at the moment." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Thanks Bob, thinking of the nationwide flex account so they can begin to get an idea about budgeting. The Girl is pretty savvy with money, but the Boy is awful (takes after his dad :rotfl:).
So one of my colleagues in job 2 MAY be leaving. So I am looking at the possibility of increasing my hours there seeing as there is nothing on the horizon for the oh. Childcare is the issue, ok while he is home, but I also have my mum and sister around.
Job 1 has been interesting this week, lots of issues and shifting around of staff between us and another store. We are under staffed but are seen to be 'well staffed' by area managers. It's got to a laughable situation but luckily it was quiet this week which helped. We shall see what next week brings.:cool:Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
