If I can help with your child I'll try. Reception and Early Years' specialist here.
Positive feedback is the best and most effective way to promote positive behaviour and discourage inappropriate behaviour. Use positive language and say what you want, not what you don’t want.
The easiest way to remember this technique is to stay positive. Tell your son what you want him to do, instead of what not to do.
It is important that sanctions match the ‘offence’ and are used consistently by, and between, different adults he knows. He needs to know what the possible consequences might be of stepping over the line into inappropriate behaviour. Make sure all members of family use the same sanctions for the same offence!
All children will step over the boundaries of good behaviour from time to time and adults need to think ahead and plan how to respond in the best possible way. The aim must always be to return children to the appropriate behaviour as quickly, and with at little fuss, as possible. However, sometimes it will take time and there will be fuss!Savings as of April 2023 Savings account - £26460.50(14474.88)Current account - £2140.24(4576.79)Total - £28600.74(19051.67) £1010 (£65pm CS/BS) £250 CS/BS/JS0 -

Finally have time to sit down! Been out at job 2 and now have half hour before a shift in job 1.
Zippy, thanks for the info. We have had a few meetings with the school and they are very upbeat about him. He has struggled with his emotions since September. He just doesn't seem to be able to tell anyone how he is feeling and gets so overwhelmed and then explodes. So most of the time the behaviour isn't 'naughtiness' more frustration and an inability to cope.
Unfortunately he has also picked up some bad habits from the Wierd one. We obviously deal with him a bit differently, a lot of his behaviour is because of his aspergers, (although we have noticed a marked increase in normal 'I am 8' behaviour :rotfl:) and so allowances are made. But it's not good for the Wild one as he copies a lot.
He is also a very physical boy, he needs to be outside running and playing. I went to forest school with him which he adored, and he seems to be struggling with the 'school' part of yr R. Also his fine motor skills are a little behind so he hates any kind of writing activity, but his reading skills are way ahead so he gets bored with the books. But his empathy isn't there yet so he struggles to discuss the stories he is reading!!!
Overall the school has been fantastic, I just think on Tuesday the teacher had had a day like mine :rotfl:
He is just an incredibly stubborn little boy, apparently my grandad was the same, at his funeral a lot of stories of how he was as a toddler and small child were shared, and it was like everyone was describing the Wild one. So I have hope that he will eventually come good
Anyway debt busting is on a go slow atm. Things keep cropping up, but am hoping for a nsd today, I think I am up to 8 this month, will check in a minute, I tried to look at what I will be bringing home over the next three months and how much I need to save to get my emergency fund up to 1k, if nothing big breaks I should do it by June :jDebt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
So another nsd, won't be one tomorrow as out meeting up with one of my oldest friend. We will be child free so will be actually going out for a meal. The budget is so tight I may have to do that out of the emergency fund (damn you IKEA :rotfl:)
So the Wild one was good all day until the last half hour apparently. He seems to just get far to tired and lashes out. Anyway half term starts tomorrow so hopefully a week off will help.:jDebt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
Enjoy your meal out, and half term! We are just coming to the end of half term, it's been lovely despite being on a tight budget.Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.0 -

If anything I think a lot of boys are the same way. I think boys get a bad rep for simply being how nature has made them." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
