Final spend for me which is just £3.70 which brings me to a total of £139.89 for the month. So I have £10.11 left in the kitty. I'll be going over to the March thread now but will pop back to see how you're all doing.
This challenge has definitely made me plan more and I feel much more in control of what we are eating - so it's been really useful and I've enjoyed hearing all the different stories.
  • Had a few more spends amounting to £8.19, cucumber to go with the rest of the salad stuff I have bought and a couple of Free From salad creams, want to make some coleslaw, some Free From cheese, stock cubes. Stuff to compliment foods I already have, apart from green Jackfruit, couldn't resist that. I now have £1.09 left.
  • Last shop of the month done, £9.79 in Aldi and some bits and bobs yesterday taking my total spend up to £48.69 which is amazingly just below target. This makes me feel confident that in a month where less things go wrong I should manage next months target. See you all over in the March thread :)

Feb for me was a big fat F**l - not dwelling on it, imagine how much aid would have spent without the budget in mind - Roll on March :)
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Not celebrating though, just found out the medical insurance my OH has won't pay for my son's Ed Psyc and Behavioural Optometry bills (had been told they would )
Why? Because Aspergers is a chronic condition. £940 down, of which I had £348 in my emergency third purse. Belt tightening next month....

Oh hugs that's a blow. do you have anything in writing to say they would pay? or if by phone the name of the person you spoke to?

Insurance companies always try to wriggle out of paying. I crashed my car years ago into a shop window, my insurance company at first refused to pay as I had admitted liability, police statement. What the hell was I supposed to do. blame the shop window, lol Yes officer it just jumped in front of me. Anyway it took a while but they did eventually pay up.

You have nothing to lose by challenging this, Good luck.

Islandmaid! And you Meg72! What are you doing? I am eating no sugar or carbs and all afternoon I have been desperately trying not to think about pancakes since seeing the pic! They look fantastic but they are too tempting.

Right I'm off outside to rummage through the storm debris and try and retrieve most of the perspex roof panels from my greenhouse that are missing to try and resist.

    !

So sorry lol I am also no sugar no carbs but these are just to irresistible. Figure its a once of year treat.

Hope you can fix your greenhouse, sadly mine is terminal, it took flying lessons and landed in bits.

  • Islandmaid that f word is not allowed on this thread. We learn from experience, and sometimes despite our plans, real life just bites us on the a**e.

    Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o
  • Declaring for the month on £352.60/£400.
Really pleased with that but will probably need to replenish washing powder and stock cupboard in March.
  • £84.80 to add to the £275.49 already spent this month = £360.29/350- but the food bought will run into March I guess as I won't do a food shop til next weekend.
  • My Feb month finished on Friday 24th and was under budget by £20. This will go into the wine fund now. Did the same with the Jan underspend.

Not sure how coming to the underspend but have noticed that have used up more freezer food and ensuring that fruit & veg is lasting longer than used to do. Hope all have a good rest of the weekend.
