I'd like to join please. I have a plant and fish based diet which can be expensive - I'm lucky as I have freezers that are quite full with fruit and veg and I have a good stock of food. But reading the thread I think it will help me to focus on eating what's in the house and reducing my stash of things.
We are two adults and two cats and five chickens - the pets food has just been bought in bulk - so they're sorted - just the people. I thought I'd go for £150 and see how I go.
Many thanks0 -
Please may I be put down for £90 again. This is for 1 adult and is from 1st to 28th February.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0

Hoping to get this down over the next few months it's only for 2 adults but during week probably end up doing extra meals for DD and her bf 3 times and normally do family meal when everyone descends on us at weekend for between 8 and 12 so will be watching everyone's budget what works for them.Frugal challenge 2025
Feb Grocery Challenge £2500 -
Can you please put me down for £140 commencing from 25/1/17.
I haven't posted on for a while even though I have been food shopping but we also have been eating from our stores and freezer and only what we need.
No a lot of waste - there has been some but we both have been trying to keep it a minimum.
Thanks for starting the thread.
Have a good rest of the day all.

Hi
I am still in January until 30th, so please can you put me down for £150 from 31st January to 27th February. Although it is a shorter month I will have to stock up on cat food. If I come in under budget any month the remainder goes into a savings tin.Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget0 -
Hi all. I don't very often post but keep up with the GC all the time. DD1 has been offered a sports scholarship at a top independent school from September. Despite the financial assistance we are receiving, we still can't afford the 'small' amount they want us to pay! :rotfl:
However this is such an honour for her that we we have decided we'll make whatever sacrifices are necessary.
I'm already a prudent grocery shopper but there really will be no room for 'going over' our budget from now on!
So, please could you put me down for £160 for 2 adults and 2 athletic pre-teens for all food, toiletries, cleaning items etc
Thank you all for your input2017 GC O-£93.46/£160; S-£136.26/£160; A-£130.55/£160; J-£47.12/£160;

for 2 adults & 2 kids (13 & 11) for all food,toiletries,cleaners etc0 -
I'm in again with £500 (again!) (as a reminder this is for 2 adults, one toddler and a cat, covers all food, household cleaning products, cat food and cat litter as well as nappies)
Eventually I would like to get this under £400, but I'll start here!
Past 2 months have not been good - Christmas threw everything out, which carried on over to January and stress of a new job/ earlier starts/ different routine has resulted in overspends galore.
My main aims for this month are:
- make meat go further (most of my budget goes on meat, which isn't right)
- bulk make meals so that I have some backups in the freezer
- although takeaways aren't in this budget (they are separate) rely on them less if I "can't be bothered" to cook
- find some new slow cooker recipes/ one pan oven bakes which I can set up in the morning and come home to at night
- try to stick to the 2 ocado shops per month with minimal "additional" trips to the supermarkets
- check in more frequently in here!
We have just agreed to sell our house and buy our "forever" home, so all the penny pinching we can do will be going to a good place.February Grocery Challenge: £0 / £5000 -
I'm new to this - got a bit panicked when I saw how much I spent last year on groceries, so I'm keeping a note of everything this month.
Think I should be able to do £80 in February - all food, cleaning stuff etc for 1 person. I live in Iraq, so some things are much cheaper and some are more expensive, I spend a lot of money on imported cheese which is going to have to stop.0 -
Please count me in for £100 for February my month runs 30th January to 28th February. This is for one adult and a pooch and includes food, non-alcoholic drinks, pet supplies and household items0

Hi everyone,
Budgets list updated to here
Sorry not to have been on much lately. Work is very busy and I'm still supporting my sister through her grief (and dealing with mine)
Hope you all do really well this month, and welcome to all the newbies - nice to have you along
