    DS - 30
    OH - 50
    Mum - 10
    Step dad -10
    Grandparents -5
    Sister -5
    Dad -10
    Step mum - 5
    OH mum -10
    OH gran -5
    OH Sister -5
    OH nephew -15
    Half brother -5
    Half sister -5
2 Cousins (because my aunt helped out alot when i first had dd) -2
    3 friends - 15
one of friends baby -10, although this year he'll be getting a present ds got last christmas that is in the cupboard unused because he got too many things and i forgot about it and he is too old for it now really so will suit her little on better, might spend 4 on a tshirt to go with it or something.

So far I have knitted 3 scarves to give, got the yarn to do more but currently working on winter clothes for the kids. Gonna also do some baked goods for token gifts and use my boots points to get one of my friends a selection of make up.
OH and I haven't been able to get each other anything the past couple of years so hoping if I budget well this year and make some savings on everyone elses we can get each other something small but nice, especially since we haven't had anything all year for ourselves.

mum, dad, sister1, sister2, bil - We pretty much all club together to buy the presents of the others. So say £15/person. So each person gets about £75 of presents paid for by 5 others. Could round that up to £20/person as I always spot 1 or 2 last minute £1-2 stocking fillers .

    1 friend - £25

    Total bill: £125 max

    Now I feel mean

I buy for Hubby and 3 kids. I buy a small gift from the kids for my father (about £20). I don't buy for my brothers or their kids (they don't buy for us either) we live 100 miles away and don't see each other at Christmas, but when I do see my neices and nephews during the year I always buy them a little something.

That said, I still probably spend around £250 each on my kids. That is all they get through the year though apart from birthdays, and probably the same on Hubby, although we tend to do a joint main gift, last year we bought a new TV because ours was on its last legs. Then a few bits and bobs.

I hate christmas shopping and wrapping, I would hate to have to buy for 40+ people.

    Debt-free and Proud!
Im lucky in that I dont have to buy for many people.

OH £100 (I save all year towards his gift so i can justify to myself spending so much when i have debts - wrong maybe but hey its Christmas and we dont get that many treat through the year)

Sis £20 Im thinking of getting her a magazine subscription? A small gift basket with any left overs using vouchers and mystery shopping goodies.

BIL & SIL £20 (£10 paid for by OH) Im trying to make a night in at the movies gift basket thanks to the fantastic help and ideas of you lovey people here!

Neice £50 paid for by OH

Parents £30 hamper, not home made as it has to be delivered so it works out cheaper to buy one via a website and get cashback or points.

In-laws £70 paid for by OH

I still have christmas cards and gift wrap left over from 2 years ago when i brought loads in the sales, so thats a couple of less things to buy.

This is my second credit card free christmas and i have to say i find them so much less stressfull and i actually take time and think about what to get people rather then just see things and buy on impulse.

I havent started to think about christmas food as yet but as its only te two of us for christmas dinner it shouldnt cost that much - fingers crossed :money:

I'm on a properly tight budget this year as I'm just about to start a year of work unpaid (don't ask  )

I have been making some presents - I did a painting for OH's sister, painted some glasses for OH's mum (plain glasses John Lewis - pigsback voucher), drawing of a ship for OH's dad (he's ex-navy). My sister has a voucher from Pigsback (she's just about to give birth so I figure she'll welcome a clothes voucher), her husband has some toliteries (boots advantage card points), toy for the little one (boots advantage card points), my other sister has a vodka hamper (vodka (import), ice-cube trays (freebie), cocktail shaker and bits (poundshop), skittles (given to me), shot glasses (john lewis - pigsback voucher), packed up in a nice bright red bucket for the aftermath! (poundstop). My mum has toiletries (boots advantage card points), OH a DVD set (rpoints vouchers), sisters partner sci-fi book (rpoints vouchers), brother has a bucket of retro sweets and I made his OH a necklace. My dad has some whiskey (import). Think that's it.

I quite like the idea of making a perfect man kit - with the ingredients for gingerbread cookies, a cookie cutter and a baking sheet packed up in a mixing bowl. Might do that for secret santa this year :)

I usually make my own cards and I'm going to make my own wrapping paper this year too :D

Those of you who buy loads, like for adults other than partners, parents & offspring & grandchildren. Do you not think you would be better limiting it to JUST immediate adults & children?
Money aside the sheer work involved in planning, finding, carting home, wrapping & delivering is huge.
  • I never have to buy loads of presents, but this year i am going to buy even less.

I'm not going to buy for people that I don't see from one month to the next. what's the point. I normally buy a 'token' gift for people like this but this year they will just get a card.
    now mum of 4!!!

OH - £100+ (I spend more on him than he spends on me as I usually start buying early and get things gradually over a few months when I go into town. OH however leaves it to the last minute so can only spend whatever is left over)
    My mum - £10-15
    My step-dad - £10
    my dad - £10-15
    brother 1 - £10
    bro 1 gf - £10
    bro 2 - £10
    my grandma 1 - £10
    my grandad - £10
    my grandma 2 - £10
    OH's mum - £10-15
    OH's step dad - £10
OH's dad - £10-15 (although more if we do joint birthday and christmas - but then he gets a little something extra so he has things to open both days)
    OH's sis 1 - £10
    OH sis hubby - £10
my niece and nephews - £10-20 each
    OH's sis 2 - £5-10
    OH's sis boyfriend - £5-10
    OH's grandma - £10
    Our cat - £5-10
