I have found a way to remove the hated cortana in Windows 10 ........

I can confirm that it does work - just make sure that you are using a 3rd party menu (such as Classic shell - or you will lose "SEARCH")
Now to get rid of EDGE.
Don't forget bing search engine.0 -

I use this registry alteration, be careful,
http://www.howtogeek.com/265027/how-to-disable-cortana-in-windows-10/
I've used it several times, caution, I did try the 'one click' offering which caused problems for some reason.
I've found the manual method to work every time.
If you have Pro versions the key is there and you just need to alter the value.
If you have Home versions you will have to insert new 'Windows Search' key with the appropriate value.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Slightly O/T, but when I'm using Firefox on my laptop without the charger plugged in, I get an occasional message (in the notification area) telling me that Cortana is much better than FF as it uses less battery!! :rotfl:
Is there a way of disabling this message??
