But you're not getting it are you
Other than your time (and some potential anguish/uncertainty) you don't have a quantifiable loss to sue for - you'll note that the only ones agreeing with your case are some of the bottom-feeding law firms - not the MP's/Government/Finance Companies etc
If you want to slap your own backs on how much you're going to sue for without anyone questioning then go and play in your own forum rather than trying to control what's posted in a public one
Your simple way of claiming compo was to be a US resident with a US car where VW broke the law, mis-advertised and were punished. Currently, anywhere outside of there you're playing the system and I suspect VW will fight back.
Reporting those with differing opinions to yours won't advance your case a single iota
That is your opinion and I respect your right to hold this view but I respectfully ask you to avoid discussion of this opinion in the thread.0 -
It's the car depreciation curve for VWs that I'd be interested in. If from an impartial source, Parkers?, I'd like to see if there's a distinct drop at or after the VW emissions announcement on affected diesels and whether that continues over the life of this court case? If it shows a distinct drop followed by a similar curve to that before this disclosure then I'd be concerned.0

TBH I'm not sure there's anything further to discuss on this subject anyway, we've all made our points quite clearly.
One thing I will add though is, whilst I, and others share a different view, we haven't personally attacked anyone in this thread for their opinions nor questioned anyone's "morals" as was mentioned earlier. What I do find personally offensive is members making spurious claims of trolling because of a difference of opinion and threats to report as well as encouraging others to do so with the sole aim of silencing their views on the subject. This is not on and will be taken further!0 -
I have have two quotes for trade in, seperated by 9 months. One before emissions and one after.
The first trade in value states £8.6k (3 weeks before the new broke)
The second trade in value (4 months after emissions news) = 5.6K
Explain that if you will?
Nobody here is trying to get FREE MONEY... More get the value lost by a mistake/lie VW have made/told.0 -

Used car pricing is an art rather than a science0 -

Unless you, or any lawyer for that matter, can prove you've had losses then I don't see what you have to gain going to court.0 -
If you took the dealer to small claims court for the loss of value or because the car is no longer fit for purpose, would you likely have a case and would losing affect any later class action you decided to join?0

Of course there are other factors to bear in mind0 -
@neilmcl Lose the tone sir. There is nothing "oddly" about this, maybe just maybe I am not glued to the forum? Maybe just maybe I am doing other things. I suggest you lose the tone or speak to people via your keyboard hero method in a better fashion. You rudeness and ability to conversate is poor. I do not need advice from you. Step out of the conversation if you wish to act like a child.
The price of the vehicle (spec considered and mileage) pre "Scandal" was worth 11k. 8 months after owning the vehicle is was worth 8.6k Then after the emissions scandal I test drove another VW and was offered 5.6k Which was exactly 6 months later.
So I would expect the car to be worth in the region of 8k and NOT the 5.6k they now offer.0
