  • Credit card came online this morning. The total went up because of interest being added but I can't get a 0% card at the minute. They added £47.00 interest and minimum payment was £83.
Paid £107.75. So new total is £3240. Still have some money but as I'm trying not to use the credit card need to keep it for petrol.
Hopefully pay another £40 off of it though

    Hello there

Welcome to the boards! This is absolutely the best place in the world to be when you're struggling with debt so you're doing good so far. :D

You need to post a statement of affairs. Work out your monthly outgoings and we'll all help you figure out ways to save money. Also state your approximate income. If you're paid 4 weekly then once a year you get 2 wages in the month, excellent. You need to make use of that.

Have you tried a few 0% card applications? When one says no, another might say yes. I'd try a few if I were you, it worked for me and has made debt repayment so much easier.

Don't forget we have 2 council tax free months right now. Do not fritter that extra cash, pay it to your debt.

Have you applied for the tax rebate on washing your work uniform? Every little bit helps, it really does.

Well done for walking out of the shop when they didn't have the meal deal. You have willpower of steel which will absolutely see you through this.

I also noticed you haven't replied to various posters on this thread who are trying to encourage you. If you need help figuring out how this site works, just ask. It really is the friendliest place in the world and everyone understands. We have all been there, and survived to tell the tale.

And lastly, you will not always feel so worried about it all. Once you have figured out a plan that works, you can sleep better at night knowing you just have to stick to the plan and it's all good.

Best of luck. I've subscribed. ;)

Hi sorry have been at work. I guess I should explain that I still live at home with my mum as I have some mental health issues and so people don't think I would cope on my own and to be honest they are probably correct. I pay a nominal amount of rent and I pay for the internet and now tv. Mum covers the rest.
  • No spend day today. Have £35 in my purse and would like to try and make that last the week. Will obviously need fuel and a few bits in Tesco but hope this is doable. Day off tues and weds but have picked up a couple off extra hours on Tuesday and had an email tonight saying someone handed their notice in on Friday so there are more hours so emailed back and told them to put me down fo as many as they can fit in.

Payday is in 19 days have £200 that can be spent if needed on top of the £35 I have on me although obviously want to use as little as possible also have £500 in my " emergency"-don't use the credit card fund.

Credit card not been used this year and want to try and keep it that way
  • Another night of no sleep. Getting ready for work so should hopefully be a no spend day.

Thought I wanted to clear my credit card this year but after going through it all there's no way I will clear it this year. I guess as long as I can keep paying it off and not add any more to it then that is something.

Anyway better get ready for work. Have a good day.
  • Logged on to internet banking this morning and had an 8p interest refund on my credit card which left it at an unground figure so paid off another £9.92 to bring the total down to a round figure. I know it's silly but I'm tempted to pay £10 of the loan as although I know it's lower interest I would psychologically like to see the total under £9000.
  • Spendy day today. Day off work and the one year anniversary of my dad dyeing so been out with mum. £22 on petrol and £24.82 in bookers but have bought 24 600 MLS Pepsi for at work some little bottles of pop and 12 2 litre bottles of pop. I know it seems expensive but it stops me popping into all the corner shops when I'm out seeing patients and a little bottle is normally £1.29 or so. So the Pepsi alone should cost me over £24
  • Hi. Not posted much the last few days. Not really a lot happening been at work each day looking forward to day of Wednesday :T. Paid £4 of the credit card so not large amounts but still not added to the debt. Not used the credit card since last year.

Have £550 in the emergency/ savings account and £90 left to last till payday which is 11 days away. Will need petrol after work tomorrow but don't plan spending on my day off as plan on not leaving the sofa. Won't be off then till the 22nd and 23rd
  • Hi, popping into say you sound like you are doing well, small steps in the right direction. Enjoy your day off :)
Happiness is wanting what you have...
  • Haven't posted in a while. Not much going on. Payed another £10 of the credit card and still not used it this year just need to keep it up. It's not going down as fast as I'd like because of the interest being added but just need to keep chipping away at it.
Have £40 in my purse to get petrol for next week. Working today so should be a no spend day.
Day off tomorrow and mum wants to go shopping but if I go I will end up spending so might just have a lazy day.
Emergency fund/ any surprises fund is at £550. I know I should pay more off the credit card but at the min if something went wrong with the car i would have to use the credit card again. Will probably get it up to £1000 and then pay more of the card
