  • Even if I lived off value beans I wouldn't manage to clear it this year. Didn't take me long to run up the debt but is going to take a while to shift.

If I could just not add to it and get rid of the credit card I will be getting somewhere

Thats what I did last year, Ive never been one to buy things on cards but was always doing balance transfers etc so last year made an effort to not add to the debt. This year I am paying it off :)

    We can do this!
£15900 loan (including interest) over 3.5 years to pay off...can I do it sooner???
    £940/£15900

  • Morning. I've been awake for ages can't stop thinking about what a mess I've made of everything.
No idea how I'm going to clear all this debt.

Anyway yesterday was a no spend day and I'm hoping today will be as well. Although it's Friday 13th and the way I'm going anything could go wrong

Morning, I am planning on a massive debt busting year this year too. I have gone great guns and paid a big chunk off over the past three months, but am doing less overtime now so will be slowing down a bit.

Keep plodding on, you can do this!
    Debt free Feb 2021 🎉
  • Sorry not been around been a busy couple of days. Picked up 40 mins extra work yesterday and some extra visits today. The advantage of working 7-2200 is to tired to spend mone. Another long day at work tomorrow and possibly an extra 30 or so mins added on to visits so a bit more towards the credit card.

13 days till payday. Credit card still hidden so debt has not been added to still money in my purse but will need petrol Tuesday. Anyway time for bed as another long day tomorrow
  • Survived four long days at work :T. Picked up a few extras here and there so that should help. Also yesterday was another no spend day so money in purse still in tact.

Will need petrol today though so will be a big spend and will probably need more tomorrow as got a long journey in the morning not work related. My grampy is going to a care home for a week whilst some work is done on his house but the only place available is over an hours drive away. He doesn't want to go. I can't go today as working until late but don't start work until 3 tomorrow so promised him I will be there for 10 tomorrow morning.

Credit card is at £3340. Would like to try and pay another £40 off before payday. Can't wait for it to be under £3000. Still haven't added to it and payday is 11 days away. Weekend of this week but should be low spend as going to clean up after the builders at Grampys before he comes home

Sorry to hear that your Grandad is having a hard time Debtfreeme2015 and that it's hard stretching the funds. You sound like you are working a lot though which has to be good for the pennies.

Thanks. My grampy is having a new heating system put in but the careers are not allowed in the house while the work is being done so has gone for respite to a nursing home for the week. Only trouble is it's over an hours drive away.

Finished work for the day. Not a no spend day today as got petrol so that was £27.79. Normally I would say that would last until payday but promised my grampy I would go to the nursing home before work to check he is settling in ok.
Went into Tesco as picked up prescription that's been waiting all week. Have a pre pat certificate though as I get 8 prescriptions a month so it's cheaper to pay £10 a month.
Looked at all the cheesecake and ice cream and was very tempted but left it there so no spends and no junk food. Did get a bottle of Diet Pepsi for 99p but mum refused to take the money for it.
  • 10 days till payday. Will have to get petrol again later as off to see grampy in the respite home and it's a two hour round trip. Hopefully won't need to spend anything else though.

This is the first month I haven't used the credit card to pay for petrol so not added to the debt.

Going to pay another £10 of the credit card. It's not loads but at least it will go down a bit more

    Morning
I apologise if you have already said this but is there no chance of getting any of your petrol money recouped under some form of careers allowance? I don't know which I'm afraid but people do seem to get certain things by being a carer.

I'm doing the payday countdown too.

  • Morning. Another long day at work and so far squeezing in another patient so that's an extra bit of pay.
Yesterday was a no spend day but plan is to get a co op meal deal for dinner tomorrow but have my spending money for this week so it's ok.

Paid £15 off loan yesterday so new total is £3325. Still along way to go put not used the credit card so not added to the debt.
