Has anyone heard anything back yet?
I got statement no. 3 this morning with voucher cancelled £25 charge.
Rang up and was told had to pay. Refused. A supervisor will call me back later. Some of the wording above is useful when I speak to him/her.
Must be totally illegal and I am willing to be taken to court to prove a point if they push this.
EDIT thanks to LOUISED above, I sent the following from my account to expedite matters ....
I entered into a contract with you, which was completed 2 months ago. You supplied me with the goods, and I paid the price you asked including a voucher. You have no right to change your mind weeks down the line, and say actually you don't want me to use that voucher after all and am billing me another £25 as "Voucher cancelled". Indeed I imagine this is totally illegal and contravenes the unfair contract terms law.
I expect this illegal charge / deduction to be removed from my account forthwith and then I want the account closed as I do not wish to do business with a company that treats customers in this way. Alternative, please refund the amount I paid for the goods and arrange for collection of the now worn and frayed pairs of jeans I bought from you.
As for supplying the details of the offer I received (which your call centre want me to do), it is unfair to ask this 2 months down the line as I don't keep mailshots / spam e-mails for more than a few days. As far as I am concerned when the website accepted the voucher and the order and you supplied the goods then the contract is complete. You cannot come back 2 months down the line and demand another £25. If the order was not acceptable your computers should not have accepted it and you should not have supplied it. End of story as far as I am concerned.0 -
i also have a £25 voucher cancelled on my account
fortunately i'd already sent the item back0 -

! married name, 1 maiden name, 1 husbands and 1 in name with Choice, God could do without them recharging them all back!
Are people managing to get them to back down?0 -
I remembered this happening to a lot of people last year and posted a warning on the other littlewoods post but not sure if people noticed, heres a link to the thread ..this was same time last year.....http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=196731&highlight=warning+littlewoods
In my opinon I think you can generally use the codes, but once loads of people start using it, it gets flagged up and they start revoking....so the first lot of people to use it will probably get away with it but the last lot won't.
Read point 2.3 on their t & C ....
2.3 Where you have redeemed a promotional code or any other offer ("a Code") against your order, acceptance of this order is subject to our verifying that the Code has been issued to you personally, that you comply with all the terms of the offer and qualify for the Code. In the event that the Code has not been issued to you for your personal use or you do not qualify for the offer, the price of the order will be adjusted notwithstanding any email or other confirmation that you receive.
That is quite confusing...but in some cases if you fight them and say they should have rejected the purchase at the point of check out when verifying, and not sent out the goods, some tend to back down, it really depends on who you speak with and how hard you fight...goodluck0 -
After reading this thread , I have just checked my account online , and it too is showing as £25 in debit , saying code refushed , I have had nothing in the post yet .

This catalogue company has suddeny become the pits. I had an old debt with them I was paying in instalements but I was buying sale things for my business from them once every 6 months or so. I had kept the account up and running for about 9 years with Kays but did not really use it except for when the goods were on sale as they did have better prices than my suppliers. They then told me I could have no more goods until the old debt is paid off as they now owned Kays. They were very rude and the way the woman spoke to me was a shocking, I put the phone down almost intears and I am never like this. During the conversation they told me that I could not have any of my cashback that I had accrued either as I was not entitled to it. So, I used the business money that was to pay for the sale stock in full to pay the old debt (at a reduced rate on F&F though, LOL) and I'll pay for the current stuff monthly as an when they sent the statements out.
2 months on and my account has still not been re-instated, I don't know if I can have the cashback I accumulated this year (over £100) and if I email them to ask they tell me to call the office. Like I want to call them again. I have also asked them 3 times to send me VAT invoices and yet depsite them telling me they have passed this request on I still do not have them so I cannot claim my VAT back from the HMRC on my VAT return. I wonder if something more is going on with this company. However, whether they re-instate my account or not I will never use them again and I used to order around 4k a year I guess (latest was over 2k in the last sale - which I just managed to get). The woman also told me 'we own all the catalogues now so you won't be able to buy anything else now anyway from any of them'. She was such a stuck up cow I can't tell you.
Anyway, just to make you aware, there are 16 catalogues that are now owned by Littlewoods, if they are doing this with one lot of vouchers codes then the rest are sure to follow. Just be careful, I am not going to use any of these catalogues in the future - depsite the codes, the risk they can charge you months down the line means it is not so much a bargain now.
Funnily enough though, they are still bombarding me with 'First' literature and offers and my husband can still order. Oh, and the original account (which then turned into a debt when hubby lost his job) was originally taken in my maiden name but a week after I settled the old debt I got a card in my maiden name telling me I had won a 'prize' of said amounts but it was from Littlewoods affering me a 'prize' which was actually a voucher to use in the catlogue! I have been married for 8 years!!0 -

EDIT:
Spoke to a sensible member of staff called Lloyd at their Newtown call centre. I said that they would have to take me to court if they wanted to get the £25. He seemed to think it won't come to that. He may have panicked when I mentioned the unfair contracts term and that it was probably illegal to alter a contract 2 months after it was completed and that custmmers should not have to pay for their inadequate computer systems. He agreed their e-mail above was unhelpful. Like most of their staff I said. will keel this forum posted on any developments. He will escalate my complaint but seems to think they can't enforce this charge. Enforce or not, they won't be getting it as I will take the matter to court if need be (which Lloyd says won't be needed). Barstewards (apart from Lloyd!).0 -
I'm getting worried about the tread above this because people are ordering loads from Littlewoods. I remember last year or the year before this happened and Littlewoods started charging everyones cards. I am worried in case people order what they can't really afford at full price? No Matter what you do there will be critics.0
