A Ditherer's Diary (again)

Thanks everyone. I'm home. Did Bognor then onto Portsmouth for my friends birthday. She's not feeling very birthday-ey because of the circumstances with her brother so I wanted to spend some time with her to make sure she was ok.
Treated myself to a chicken biriyani for dinner.
Tomorrow is house tidying and catching up on laundry.

It's good you were able to be there for your friend.
Chicken biriyani - I haven't had that in a long time, it used to be rather a favourite and now it's probably due a come-back once the evenings are cool again.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

20yo finished off what I left. I also haven't had a biriyani for years. Really enjoyed it.
Today hasn't gone to plan. I've not been sleeping well and I promised 20yo a lift to work this morning at 7am. I've not long woken up from an hour and half nap.
In work news, I am moving team again. This time one of my supervisors and a current team member are also moving with me. We are however moving into a new global team with a new manager. There's 10 of us, 7 are based in Dallas. I'm UK, other guy is in Sweden and supervisor is NL.
I've had a chat with the Senior Global Manager as I think he's had a hand in moving me as he used to be my line Manager. He told me it's because the quality of my work so I'm quite happy with that. Now I'll need to prove myself for the next 6 months ready for bonus time in March. I'm also looking to become a "senior" in the team, but again, promotions are in March.
Nothing financial to report. Still tilly tidying so will tot up my figures at the end of the month.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again2 -

Thank you. I'm lucky that I like my job even though it's "full on".
We're off to a wedding reception tonight. I'm just trying to do some housework now. I'm only posting on here as I've sprayed the bathroom and just giving it some time to soak in!
We were going to go to the beach tomorrow but 20yo is working and 15 had announced she has plans. However her plans are meeting a "new boyfriend" so I may end up stalking her instead as I'm not comfortable with her going off on her own with people she doesn't know and no friends going with her.
I know I sound over protective and I'm not normally a helicopter parent, but usually she's with school friends and over the local park or out on her bike. I'm going to see if her cousin & boyfriend might be able to go with her.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again2 -
That sounds like good news about work - well done!
I'm with you on keeping an eye on the 15 yo when there is an unknown element like that. Hope she has a good date and nothing to worry about.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Today had been a lovely day. No hangover is a big plus!
15yo has had a good day. All went well.
The in laws came with us this morning for a dog walk in the park. MiL moaned a bit and had to keep sitting down. The word "boring" made a couple of appearances by her, but all she'd be doing would be day at home watching TV. We then dropped doggo back at home and took them out for a pub lunch.
It's a nice pub we go to and the food is lovely. They do a three course meal for £30. We all ordered from that menu, and four items had a £2 supplement charge each. There were three soft drinks and one bottle of beer. However the bill came to £170. MrM had paid but was thinking it was expensive. I pointed out the meals were £128 so £40 on drinks were surely wrong. I went back in and spoke with the manager and he corrected it and applied a refund. The problem is, this is the 2nd time this has happened at this pub. I also noticed the first time and got a refund. I love the food there but how many people are they over charging? I think if we go again, I'd need to be vigilant.
But all in all, it was lovely sitting in the shade of the beer garden, eating good food with lovely company. We went back to the in laws and played some cards whilst waiting for 15yo to come back.
I'm also off work tomorrow. MrM and I plan to sort out the under stairs cupboard 😬Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again3 -

@KajiKita good idea! I don't think it'll be too bad but who knows what we'll find that we've been looking for four years! 😂Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1

Hooray! Cupboard cleared. We have given loads to MrM snr for his carbooting. Have a small pile for the dump but our local one is closed Tues & Weds so it will be taken on Thursday. We can now get into the cupboard, shelves are organised and all tools in the toolbox.
