I am! 😂 Just been so busy at work as it's school holidays and I wanted to take some extra days off but had some deadlines to meet. Meant a couple of very late finishes in the office. I got some reading done on the commute though. My work has installed a book swap in the kitchen so I left my finished book and picked up Richard Osman's. The Man Who Died Twice 👍

How odd I would pop on here today after a long break.  Sadly I have been ostriching 😥

I just found eveything got on top of me.  I had a bumpy ride with my manager which culminated with me blubbering down the phone after he'd been rather terse with me. House is a mess which gets me down and obviously money.

I'm not in a better place now really. Work is going ok but homelife still a problem. Having the dog is lovely and MrM and I have enjoyed spending a lot of time at weekends walking and spending quality time together. It just means no housework is getting done so I constantly look at it and feel despondent. I gave up really cooking and meal planning so ended up throwing a lot of stuff away etc and buying microwave meals. I've noticed a huge change in the cost of shopping so am determined to get back to meal planning and shopping at Aldi's for most of it.

I still need to update my budget. Definitely spending more as had to upgrade my phone and DS broke his, gave him my old one but wasn't good enough for him as the battery died every 2 hours or so so ended up sorting out his contract too.  He's also been very depressed and at one point was self harming. I've been trying to find a counsellor for him but none are taking on new patients at the moment. Says something about the state of the mental health or our teens right now.

Also had car trouble. Mine died, I borrowed money from the bank of Mum & Dad and bought another, then the gearbox went within a very short time. Luckily it's under warranty but they have had it back since May. Given me a courtesy car that is completely like driving a tin can.

And yesterday MrM tested positive for Covid. It's his birthday at the end of the week, he was really poorly over Christmas too and like many men, can't be ill quitely.

I know I make it sound like woe is me but I am generally a half glass full kind of person so do try to find the good and happiness in things.  I am suffering with menopause symptoms and probably do need to get to the doctors for some HRT and some sleep!

Welcome back, Naomi! What a coincidence

It sounds like you had a lot going on, I'm sorry to hear about everything, especially about your son, that must be so worrying! We've had some issues with Boy1 just before the pandemic, not as bad as there was only talk of self harming and of course he was much younger. Our GP recommended a clinic that was working with Bupa, we had insurance through work at the time. We had to travel to Windsor to see someone but it was all worth it, the lady we had was amazing at finding the root cause and then we could do the work to improve things. It might be that now after these last couple of years there's more need for these services, I hope you find someone soon!

I don't keep up with cleaning either and I understand completely how it can get you down.

It's good to hear you're still trying to keep positive. Try to ignore MrM moaning and make sure you see your GP soon! Lots of hugs!!!
