I thought I could train my dog myself (reader…she couldn’t). 

She will do anything food related, so sit, down, speak, but I think it’s more that she trained me. Her recall is abysmal (even before going a bit deaf), because she knows I love her. Mostly she’s on lead and if off lead at the beach I just need to wave a rock at her (or chase her if she’s had enough and decided to head back to the car), I don’t take my eyes off her for a second. I had dreams of a dog Caesar Milan would be proud of, but I crashed and burned 😬

Sounds even better - and a lot more covid-safe. I hope you both enjoy the classes. They will be worth every penny when you have a well-trained dog at the end of it all.

@WinterWarrior our cav never had lessons. His recall was ok until someone had food then he was selectively deaf and we were eternally embarrassed 🤭

I have ideas that this one is a clever girl, especially as lab/GS. Think of guide dogs and police dogs! I have visions of us doing agility!

Agility is fun but where I live you have to wait until they’re a certain age.

@lucielle I guess you have  to wait until they've stopped growing and can follow instructions.

If you start agility too early it can damage joints as can very long walks while they are puppies. I assume different breeds can cope with different amounts as some finishe growing earlier than others. Always worth checking with your vet.

Whispers…mine is a Lab 😳 she has champion gun dogs on one side and champion show dogs on the other…she doesn’t care 🤣

@ladyholly yes, were still on fairly short walks or we're driving to the park so she can have a short run around and burn off some energy.

!!!!!!. I just checked my mortgage account to make sure my £23.73 tilly tidy went on and they have deducted it from my monthly dd 🤬  How annoying.  I'll see if I can pay it over again.

Isn't it depressing about the energy prices.  Eveything is going up. My budgets are going to need a serious overhaul. I may have to look at dropping the amount I pay to the cc's.

We have had a mini emergency budget meeting by text at lunch. We have found a few luxeries to scale back.
