At least one has gone! I hope the other isn’t on again, off again for years 😖 first love is hard!
It probably will be on/off.  Aren't most of them at that age? Sure mine was and I was with my first bf from 14 to 18.

@moving_forward it is hard but he will learn there comes a point that sometimes you have to walk away. At the moment he's taking his baby steps in this life lesson.

    Morning,

Ynab updated this morning. Only two transactions and one of them was my tilly tidying 🤣

It's my nephews birthday coming up very soon. The Grandparents have bought a dart board for him so I've ordered a set of darts £16.99. I need to transfer from the Monzo birthday pot. Next birthday is beginning of Feb so I'll have next payday to top it back up.

16yo seems a bit happier although gf(?) has removed him from her Disney+ subscription. Says more than a break to me.

MrM is going on about getting a new furbaby. Whilst I do want one, we don't have the money at the moment. Reminded him we owe £650 to HMRC at the end of January. He usually gets a Christmas bonus so it was planned to be paid out of that but his employer has changed the payout to Feb so I'm going to have to raid the EF and replace it when his bonus comes. After that we can think about looking.

  • Glad to hear 16 yr old is doing ok.  Maybe the removal of the Disney + makes it a bit more final for him so he can begin to get closure.  It isn't nice being on hold feeling like there may be a chance of things going back to normal.  People do it thinking its being kind to the other party but it really isn't.
OOH keep me erm I me us, yes us 🙄 informed about all decisions regarding new fur babies.  Breed/Type/Colour/names/toys/treats/sleeping arrangements/travel arrangements you know the stuff new parents do about children but are much better to hear about fur babies 🥰😍

All I can say at the moment is we are looking for a golden/cream retriever.  Our previous boy was a Cavalier and as much as I adore the breed, we think it would be too much to go for another. Don't want the kids feeling we are trying to replace him as he is irreplaceable 💙

I'd like them not to sleep in our bed this time round but then again, I always knew when Oz needed something in the night as he was there with us. Something to ponder on. 🤔

  • Ha like them not to sleep in your bed -good luck with that one!  Our little madam likes to be tucked up under a blanket in her own bed for about 15 mins until jumping into ours and snuggling under the cover with mommy.  Then Puss cat has to come and get a look in too but he usually settles on Mr M_F's side as he sleeps like a log and doesn't thrash about like me.
I had a King Charles Cav years ago who had back problems and lost her very young so I'm warry of another.
No pet is replaceable they are all individuals who come into our lives to make them so much better in their own unique ways and hopefully we manage to live up to their expectations.

Our boy used to sleep on our bed, then his hip displaysia got bad so he couldn't jump so I used to lift him up.  I kept a pillow on the floor beside my bedside table and in the last year or so, I think his heart condition meant he got too hot on the bed so he was happy on the pillow next to me, able to biff my hand or grumble at me if he needed to go out.   Like with the kids, always me that got woken up for anything nocturnal 🤦‍♀️

  • Oh naomin, memories I lost my gorgeous, gentle, irreplaceable blonde retriever four years ago, I now have a lovely cheeky bundle of miniature cockerpoo who is also a heart stealer!!
