Thanks for the support @lucielle and @moving_forward I will get there. Every year starts with determination and everything is heading in the right direction.
Ynab updated today although not much being spent with my self isolation, just odd bits and pieces. 50p added to the Tilly Tidy pot as MrM spent £17.50 so I rounded it up when I transferred the money over from the Monzo pot. Tilly tidy pot currently sitting at £10.18 although I'm not updating my signature until the end of the month. I'll chcek the joint account later once all the days transactions should have gone through.
I have £94.50 sitting in my professional course pot. I have decided I'm not continuing for now so not renewing the membership. This will be put back into the joint account to help negate that overdraft. 15 days to payday and not in the OD yet which is a good thing. I'm sure we probably are by now. I might pop onto the online banking in a moment and have a look. There's still one credit card DD to come out and obviously the food shopping. Which reminds me I need to do a meal plan for the coming week.
Poor MrM has had 4 calls from a company called So Energy today offering to find us a fixed rate on Gas & Elec. It wouldn't be so laughable except I have no idea where they get his number from as the Gas and Electric bills are in my name.

How are you getting on with YNAB I am thinking about knocking mine on the head, I use it more to track where my money has gone rather than budget so I could use a SS for that. I think I am going to wait for OH payday on Friday, set up a new sheet and give it a good go for a month, if it doesn't work out it will be getting the chop lol!
There you are, Month 1, 10 days in and you have already knocked almost £100.00 from the Overdraft!Pennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.224 -

@lookingafterthepennies if only every month I could magically find £100! 😂
I'm very up and down with ynab and think I tend to use it retrospectively. I've tried the spreadsheet method for years and it doesn't work for me. A spreadsheet is great for me to keep a record of what I need money to be spent on but according to that I'm always within budget! I think ynab helps me to account where the money is actually being spent so I can easily identify the overspent areas at a glance and know where I need work on.
@moving_forward and @GeorgianaCavendish I think I have had the mildest case known to anyone. It really was a bit of a sniffle for a couple of days. I only did the PCR as MrM had been proper poorly so thought we should both do it and his was negative. I was and still am stumped at that. He's still not feeling right. Today was my day 7 of isolation, had negative LFT's yesterday and today so I'm free to re-join the world but as I've not really spent much the last few days I think I'm going to try and stay in as much as possible for the rest of the month.
I have a friends 50th birthday meal on the 30th of Jan. I will have been paid again by then but it will still be nice to have a little buffer as we'll probably end up with cocktails somewhere. 🍹🍸Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again3 -
Oh thats something nice to look forward to NM. We find the less we go out the less we spend hence home deliveries for the grocery shop. This weekend we are going to try and see if we can spend as little as possible on groceries so we shall try shopping every day or so but only what we need for the next few days.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

Im trying a manual book instead of YNAB NM, I have pretty highlighters to code categories and shall tot up EOM so I know whats spent where. Its not as instant as YNAB but its giving my brain something to think about as I manually update it rather than the quickness I can enter transactions on a digital app!Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

I just don't think I would do it manually. I'm so lazy! At least with ynab I can do it on the pc or on my phone although the app isn't as user friendly.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again3
