Thanks Beanie, my mum is a lot better now although not totally over whatever bug she had. DS also had a day off school this week as he caught whatever DD had last week.
Have only managed to go swimming once this week but have done 2 runs. I’m now up to 8 mins continuous running which I managed but found it pretty hard. Next run is meant to be 20 mins continuous running. 😱
I got more survey money through, including youg0v so was able to pay £80 off the smallest CC. DH also sold something expensive and gave me £150 to pay off it as well so it’s down to £120. 🥳 Next payday we will pay it off which is great. 😊
I’m aiming to get all of my Christmas shopping done by the end of November and have done 80% so far. Just need an idea of what to get my mum really as know what I’m getting nearly everyone else. I’m going to stick to small token gifts for my brother, his gf and my sister and her bf.
I also need to get some good wrapping paper for DD’s presents as have got grinch wrapping paper for DS.
We have the school Christmas fair next Saturday and DS has a birthday party to go to in the afternoon. My mum is then keeping the kids overnight as DH’s friend and his OH are coming to ours for dinner and a couple of drinks. This is the OH who we felt disliked us when we first met so feeling a bit nervous about it. 🫤 I did bump into her in the street last month and she was very pleasant though so hopefully the first meeting was just a bad day for her or something.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Thanks Beanie, DH has already started on the small car loan by overpaying £40 he got through. By this time next year I'm hopeful that we will have paid off all of the debt apart from the big car loan. Probably slightly ambitious but that will be the aim. 👍
I need to do a lot of cleaning and tidying over the next few days before we have our guests over on Saturday. 😱 I've been at work so the washing has piled up slightly, I have got one washing put away, one hung up and another in the machine so far this morning. Hoping to clean the floors & windows downstairs, wash the inside door mat, clean the blinds in the living room and tidy the kids toys and books in the living room too, I might rotate some and am thinking of moving the toy kitchen so I have somewhere to put the christmas tree in the next couple of weeks!
Tomorrow I need to deep clean the kitchen and bathrooms, did a quick clean in the bathrooms on Monday before work as well as all the hoovering. On Friday DH is off work so we are going for a swim in the morning after school drop off then going to get the majority of the cooking for Saturday done. Planning on slow cooker chilli, filled potato skins and samosas (which can be made up and chilled until ready to deep fry).
I did my 20 minutes of continuous running yesterday morning after school drop off! It was hard and I did struggle a lot the first 10 minutes but after that it was a bit easier. I did have to keep telling myself to just get to the next tree, then the end of the hedge etc. 😂 I felt I was struggling to breathe properly so I tried to slow down (even more) and that helped a bit.
I really surprised myself by managing to do it and my knees are both feeling a lot better now, I think I've built up a bit more strength and resilience in them now. Hoping to do my first run of week 6 either on Friday or Saturday morning, will see how I'm doing for time and energy!
Considering getting some piercing done, I think I'm having a small midlife crisis. 😂 I only have my ears pierced and don't have any tattoos or anything so I don't know if I could actually cope with having any other body part pierced. 🤔
Think I'm going to have a snuggle with Old Cat for a bit then will need to get some cleaning and tidying done.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. No!! You don’t need to have piercings or tattoos unless you want to have them!Well done on the running.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I think I worded that badly Beanie, I think I want some piercing but not sure if it's just a mid-life crisis thing 😂 and also I'm a wimp with pain!
Got most of the cleaning done that I wanted to yesterday apart from the floors. Did the floors today and also cleaned the kitchen and inside the fridge. Also did a few washings and got them hung up but did very little apart from that.
Tomorrow I need to wrap the present for the party DS is going to on Saturday as well as all the planned cooking to make Saturday less stressful for us.
DD has slept through the night all week apart from Sunday and has been dry every night again apart from Sunday which was her first night without a pull-up on. 😀 Just have to work on the number 2 situation as she's just doing it in her pants. 🤢 Getting there though as she's been very good with the peeing.

Thanks all, sadly DD has been waking again the last few nights. 😩 She has also been hitting and scratching again at nursery and the number 2 situation is still ongoing. 😢 She is definitely my problem child at the moment.
Saturday night with DH's friend and his OH went fairly well in that there weren't any terrible awkward silences but I was still getting a bit of a weird vibe from her. 🫤 I think she wants to get on with me but in some way sees me as a threat. She was very touchy touchy with her OH whenever my DH was in the other room getting drinks. 😱 Almost marking her territory? I don't know, it was only very small instances and nothing major but enough that I noticed. Overall we did enjoy having them over although DH also noticed there was still a bit of a strange vibe at some points. I don't know if we will be repeating it, although DH's friend was saying they would invite us over in the new year. We'll see!
I went for my next run on Friday morning and found it harder starting and stopping than just doing the continuous run! Hoping to get out tomorrow for my next run as long as it's not icy. Think that's 2 lots of 10 mins running with a walk in between. The kids are off school and nursery tomorrow for St Andrews day so will be having a chill out day.
Today I got the Christmas tree up and DH did the outside lights so that's one less Christmas job to do. I've got the kids December boxes ready and will give them to them tomorrow so they have something to do. They're getting so excited about Christmas now. 😊
I have my work Christmas night out on Friday so my mum is picking the kids up from school and nursery and keeping them overnight again for me as DH is working late shift.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
