I've never tried a beauty subscription box, would you recommend it?
Those clothes sound a great price. I'm not sure where my local m &s outlet is. I have a huge outlet centre about 45 minutes drive away but not sure if it has M&S.

Thanks SA, I’ll have a look at those when my current subscription runs out then. 👍🏻Nicnak, I like the beauty subscription boxes as it’s a nice wee treat every month. You get to try different things that you might not necessarily buy yourself as well. I’ve found with B1rchbox that it can get a bit repetitive after a while but I still like the majority of products. I’ll definitely look at a different one when my new subscription ends though.
Our local M&S outlet is going to be closing in a few months as the shop is moving premises and changing to food only. 😢Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. The Latest in beauty box you can choose your own products, how many depends on your subscription level. I pay £9 a month for the basic one and get 3 products. Always get my money’s worth, often full sized products. The Look Fantastic one is a random selection based on your profile. I pay £11.25 a month but I think it’s a bit more now for new subscribers. Once again always great value.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Definitely sounds worth trying some different beauty boxes then SA. 👍
Work was fine at the weekend, it was good to get out of the house and have a break from the kids. I was meant to be working 4 days in a row but used some accrued annual leave so I only had to work 2.
DH put the outside Christmas lights up on Sunday, just along the front of the house. I think next year we'll buy more and get the window cleaners to put them up around the top of the house as well. It's something they've started doing and a few of our neighbours have them up there and it looks nice. They only charge £30 to put them up and then take them down.
I put foil garlands up around the living room and some in the kitchen and DH's computer room. Also stuck gel clings and Christmas stickers up on the glass sections of the doors between the living room and kitchen. DH put the dangling lights up across the patio doors which seem to be a bit too tempting for both DD and the cats as they keep pulling at them. 😱
The Christmas tree went up on Monday and DS was thrilled, he keeps shouting Christmas and asking where the presents are. 😂 When we're upstairs he says come on mummy, let's go back down to Christmas. 😊
Big Cat has claimed the corner underneath the tree as his new hideout and tries to get anyone who goes near by shooting a paw out to snag them. 😂 DD has already pulled the tree on top of herself so DH has tied it to the radiator to stop it going down completely next time. One of my glass icicle baubles broke 😭 That makes at least 4 that have been broken, 2 by the cats and 2 by the kids pulling the tree over. 🤷♀️ The tree already looks like it's been in the wars, the tinsel, lights and beads are all askew despite trying to tidy it up. 😭 Oh well.
DS got sent home from nursery again today. 🤨 He still isn't 100% but he was happy enough going in. He wasn't even there for an hour when they called saying that he was sitting looking miserable. 😖 So looks like another day off tomorrow and we'll try sending him back again on Thursday.
One of the games I was looking at buying DH for Christmas had £5 off yesterday which was better than nothing so I bought it. Using my £20 voucher it only cost me £15 which I'm quite happy with.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. That’s an great idea from the window cleaners. Not everyone is able to climb up ladders. Oh dear to your tree 😐 Far too tempting for young kids and cats. Hopefully they’ll get used to it being up and leave it alone. One Christmas I tripped and fell into our tree, my mum had to help me out of the tangle of baubles and tinsel 🤣Hope DS gets better soon xI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

That is definitely a good idea by the window cleaner. I could do with having that.
Sorry about your tree though.

My tree is being trashed on a regular basis by my full-throttle one man demolition squad 2 year old. It's an 8ft tree which was fully decorated top to bottom, now it's heavily decorated on the top half with the more sentimental or expensive decorations and the bottom half looks like we haven't bothered!
Hope your DS has a better day at nursery on Thursday x3 -
Hi all, thanks for dropping in.
SA, yes the tree is just one giant glittery temptation for the kids & cats. Keep catching both kids trying to pull baubles off the tree to play with. Old Cat likes to have a chew on the (artificial) tree branches and Big Cat just enjoys joining in with the kids trashing it, if the end of a bit of tinsel falls down he grabs it and pulls. 😩 I had to laugh at the thought of you being tangled up in baubles & tinsel after falling into the tree. 😂
Yes Nicnak, I think the window cleaners have got themselves a money spinner there. 👍 I nearly cried when I was trying to fix the tree but gave myself a talking to. 😂
Dancing, I feel your pain with the tree trashing. DD can't stay away from the tree for long, she's always eyeing it up and DS likes to take baubles off the tree but then doesn't know how to hang them back up so balances them on top of the branch instead. 😂 My tinsel will slowly be edging up the tree out of reach as Big Cat has a fondness for pulling it off and playing with it/trying to eat it and DS & DD are just attracted to all the sparkle. 😱
I decided to just keep DS off for the rest of the week and hope that his cold/cough has gone by Monday and that he can go to nursery for the last two weeks of term and join in some of the Christmas activities. He's really enjoying the Christmas decorations at home and loving the lights outside the houses in our street.
I might take the kids down to visit my mum tomorrow for a change of scenery. Poor DS keeps asking when he can go to nursery or out in the car, I think he's getting fed up now.
I've decided to have a look at our budget over the next few days as I want to have a separate savings account for Christmas during the year, even just saving £20 p/m will be a help. I think we need to up the monthly savings for the car expenses (and not take the money back out when we end up in the O/D *studiously not looking at DH*). My car had its service and MOT last week which cost £190 but we only had £50 in the car account. 😔
In better news we should have enough saved in the cat account to pay the full year's insurance for Big Cat in April. Old Cat will have to stay on DD payments though as he is too expensive at his age (we don't have enough saved).
I need to get the totals for the two car loans and the two 0% CCs as well and look at our normal monthly bills. We are overspending somewhere as keep ending up in the O/D, obviously not helped by being paid four weekly and our bills being monthly. 😖Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Good idea to have Christmas savings account. I started one a few years ago. I save £10 a month, which I know isn’t a lot but it is enough to sort out presents for godchildren and nephews. It helps that I have no cash card for this account and since they closed the local branch , it’s almost impossible to get the money out 😉. I should have had a Christmas savings account but didn't, again!
Last year we had the rabbit inside and he was chewing all the wires. He's outside this year so my tree is safe!
Hope DS is better soon x
