Hi Beanie & Nicnak, DS is back at nursery for 2 weeks then the schools and nurseries are closed again for a week. He won't be pleased, he was so happy to go back to nursery today, I'm glad he's enjoying it so much now though. 😊
It's a lovely day here so have managed to get the nappies washed and hung out, hopefully they will dry but I think I'll have to hang them up indoors when I bring them in, as it was after lunch before I got them out.
Both DS & DD were awake last night at 11:30 😩 DS was crying but then settled down and started carrying on shouting and laughing instead and DD was crying because she was sore. I thought it was her teeth but she actually had wind, giving her gripe water seemed to help but she was still awake for a good while, although she was happy enough just lying in her cot. I think she had a sore stomach/bad wind pains last time she ate broccoli as well, so I think we'll avoid giving her it for a while.
I'm back on early shifts from tomorrow so I'm hoping the kids sleep better tonight. DH is away out for his dinner with one of his friends, so it's a solo dinner/bath/bedtime for me with the kids.
Speaking of work I had some bad news the other day, one of my colleagues has died suddenly. No one seems to know what happened but he was only around 40 so it was really unexpected. I feel so sorry for his wife and young kids, just so terrible for them. ☹️
I've not managed to do much at all today, just feeling exhausted recently. Have had appointments through for DS's flu vaccination and also his next immunisation. He hated getting the flu vaccination squirted up his nose last time but it's not for another 4 weeks. Really dreading the immunisation as he's a lot bigger this time and won't be happy about getting a jag. DD will be due another round of immunisations in the next month or two as well. I hate taking them for jags, it's horrible. They have also changed where I need to take the kids for these immunisations so don't really know where I'm going as it's not the usual health clinic or GP practice.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Those jabs are awful. I remember DD crying her eyes out and screaming when she had them done. They did two so once the first one was in, she was not in a good mood at all for the second ones.
I don't give DD the flu vaccine as she would not have had it when she was younger. My sister and nephew are both bad asthmatics and they both have it.
Fingers crossed the sleep tonight for you. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Hi Nicnak & Beanie.
Yes Nicnak, I hate taking them for the immunisations due to the crying and the look the kids give you as though you've betrayed them by letting someone stick needles in them. 😩 DH & I get the flu vaccination through work so want DS to get it as well, hopefully he'll tolerate the squirting up his nose, he did ok last year, first nostril was fine but second took some persuasion from the nurse. 😂 He didn't even want a sticker afterwards, just looked at the nurse in disgust and ran to the door. 👀
I know Beanie, it's scary that my work colleague wasn't much older than me. I couldn't believe it when my job share partner told me, I was just shocked. His kids are still young but are old enough to understand, they will be devastated. 😔
DH is having problems getting his prescription inhalers as the GP surgery is still sending prescriptions to the chemist rather than people going in to collect them. All fine in theory but when I went to collect them today (2 weeks after he requested them) the chemist said they weren't there and there was nothing in the system. DH phoned the Drs, they insisted that the prescription had been sent to the chemist. 🤦♀️ So no idea what he's meant to do now. 🤷♀️
I have sorted out an appointment for my smear test, I was due one in August as they wanted me re-tested after 6 months due to some changes. Hopefully this one will come back ok and I won't have to have another one in 6 months again. I don't think I've had a standard, no issues found smear test since having DS. Better to get tested 6 monthly though just in case and it's really no issue after having 2 babies. 😂 It's not very dignified but it only takes a few minutes.
Heading to bed soon as up at 5am again tomorrow for work. Have my flu jag after work and meeting my mum for a quick browse around town then she's coming home with me to see the kids for a bit and will probably stay for dinner.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Deffo best to keep get tested just to monitor. Sure it'll be fine though.
What a nightmare about the prescriptions. I used to pick them up too but they've started sending mine.

Thanks for popping by Beanie & Nicnak. 👋
My flu jag was fine, the pharmacist giving it was a lovely girl and we had a good chat, her son is the same age as my DD. Afterwards I went to the range with my mum and bought some Christmas stuff - outdoor lights, gift bags and a Santa & reindeer foot stencil so Santa can leave footprints at Christmas. 😊 My mum bought a saxophone playing soft toy Santa for some reason 😂 one of the ones that actually play a wee tune and dance along. 🤷♀️ 😂
I spent most of Friday doing housework, managed to get two washings done, hung out and dried, as well as hoovering the whole house. My cousin dropped off some clothes that her DD has grown out of, so my DD definitely doesn't need any clothes for a while!
DH managed to finish painting the fence so that's one big job taken care of. 🥳 He has also managed to sell a few things on eb@y including the isofix base for the baby car seat which has cleared some space in the spare room.
It has been raining all day here and just got heavier as the day went on. DH put a nappy wash on first thing and I have also done a load of our clothes, then our bed sheets as stripped the bed and put fresh ones on. I also did the big clean of the cat litter trays which I've been meaning to do for a couple of days.
DD is turning one next week! 😱 I can't believe how quickly a year has gone by. She is getting about everywhere now that she is crawling properly and is starting to try and pull herself up as well. 😱 So far she's only managing to get herself onto her knees using either the couch or the coffee table but don't think it will be too long until she's on her feet.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
