Hope you all feel better soon.
Colds are awful as they just make you feel so rubbish and don't help with sleeping either.
Great that DS has settled a little more. Sounds like he is ready to go now. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Hi all, thanks for dropping by. I'm still feeling pretty rubbish as DS is waking up crying multiple times at night and I don't know why, so that's nearly a week of awful sleep on top of the horrible cold. DD was a lot brighter today, so at least she seems to be getting better.
DS was really good going into nursery today and had his full afternoon with no issues. He was quite ratty on the way home and was screaming in the car because he wanted a drink and snack. 🙄 So note to self made, bring a drink and snack at nursery pick up time. He gets a snack at nursery but I don't know if he ate it today and he refused to eat his lunch before we left for nursery so must have been starving.
Whilst DS was at nursery DD had a good time playing with all the toys he usually steals off her and then she napped for an hour. I got some washings done, the online shop and 25 mins of yoga. Felt better after the yoga although I still feel rotten with this cold. I need to dig up my potatoes and work on the new bed in the garden but just don't have the energy.
Once I'm feeling better I'm hoping to paint the big bare patch of wall behind my fridge freezer that DH has been saying he'll do for 3 years now. I can easily do that in the 3 hours DS is at nursery and DD can sit in the ball pit/go for a nap or my mum will watch her and that will keep her out of trouble. DH has a few holes to fill in the wall but after that I can get it done, it will probably be a while yet as I'm back at work next week though.
The other bit of painting that needs to be done is in the main bathroom, again DH needs to redo some filling and sand it, then I can slap some paint over it. The fencing in the garden also needs to be done but we need to wait for some drier weather to get that sorted.
Meant to be taking the kids to a wee birthday party for my youngest niece tomorrow but will have to see how I feel. I think my brother's gf would freak out if I went with an obvious cold, she is a bit of a germ freak at the best of times, so is in total panic mode with covid. I want to go as know that DS & DD would enjoy it but we'll see. I also have some housewarming presents for my brother & his gf.
DH finally re-did the silicone behind the kitchen sink as it had all gone disgustingly mouldy and was peeling off. We have also had to order a new kitchen tap as the current one is making a high pitched whining noise & dripping every time another tap anywhere in the house is turned on.
Feeling very stuffed up again so will probably head to bed soon.

Thanks Beanie & Nicnak, think my recovery from the cold is taking ages as I'm not getting as much sleep as I need but getting there slowly.
Took the kids over to my brother's for the birthday party today and DS had a great time running about with his cousins and the dog. DD was very good and went to several different people that she doesn't know very well i.e. my aunt who she's only seen a few times and she was happy to sit with them for a while too.
Had quite an unpleasant encounter driving to my brother's house. I pulled out of a junction and saw something flash in the corner of my eye so stopped halfway out and luckily I did as it was a car coming flying over the crest of the hill towards me. It would have hit me if I hadn't stopped.
As it was they did have to slow down and go around me a bit as I had pulled out of the junction when I hit the brakes but nothing much really, not blocking the road or anything, there was still space for them to get by, however the passenger of the car in question seems to have thought otherwise. She was shouting and screaming abuse at me. 😱 So I stuck two fingers up at her for being a lunatic and she was still screaming as the car drove away, she even opened her window so she could stick her fingers up at me from down the road!!! She wasn't even the one driving the car!
I just don't know know how I didn't see the car coming but I think it was the combination of it being a slight rise/crest and the car driving pretty fast. I looked, started to turn out then saw something out of the corner of my eye so stopped. It had to be less than 5 seconds, normally you can pull out of that junction fine with another car coming so they must have been going well over the speed limit.
I was quite shocked about the passenger's behaviour though as I had my two wee kids in the car with me and my mum in the passenger seat. Imagine getting that angry about someone pulling out of a junction and stopping before you hit them. 😮 🤷♀️ When you're not even the driver. 🤔 I admit sticking my fingers up at her probably wan't very grown up but I was just annoyed by her being so crazy as to be shouting abuse at me over a simple mistake/their car going too fast. I've had things like that before. A woman once pretended she was going to swerve into me at a motorway joining point. I was joining and she needed to get into my lane as my lane went another way. Rather than slow down and go behind me to enable me to pull out, she sped up, blocking me from going across and then cut me up. When I did eventually get out, I just shook my head at her, which turned her into a massive rage. She was swerving into my lane and everything. Anyway, some people just get het up over some things.
Hope you're feeling better soon though. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

No wonder you feel shook up after the horrible encounter with the car passenger. Why are some people so nasty, there's no need for it. I'd be sending out evil vibes for karma to come her way. I've come down with a cold too, it must be doing its rounds.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

it`s situations like this that you wish you had a webcam to record this as evidence and report her. What an unpleasant person!
More importantly glad you and your family are unscathed.1 -
Nicnak, that woman sounds crazy! I don't know why some people think it's ok to behave like that just because they're in a car, it's so awful.
Yes SA I hope karma comes and bites her on the bum, she was quite young too, it was just horrible how twisted and nasty she looked screaming and shouting at me for very little reason. I just don't understand the need for such extreme anger! The driver looked more embarrassed than anything at the passenger's total overreaction.
Janb5, you're right, DH has been on at me to get a dash cam for a while, he already has one. I really should get round to it as if I'd gotten the registration number of the car I would have reported her as it was totally over the top behaviour. If she had been the one driving I think she would have stopped the car to get out and scream and shout some more at me. 😮
I have had a few instances of people (usually men) actually stopping their cars to get out and start screaming at me. 😮 One guy actually abandoned his car in the middle of the street so that I couldn't get past him. He was screaming at me because I refused to reverse up a whole street to let him past ( I had right of way) when he only needed to reverse 2 car lengths to let me past and then could have been on his way. 👀 I had to go up on the pavement to get round his car.
That was really scary as I was in my early twenties alone in the car and this man must have been at least twice my age. I really thought I was going to have to phone the police when he got out of his car and started marching towards me screaming. 😱 Luckily he kept on walking and just left his car sitting there. 🤷♀️ I got to my mum's house (where I was going when this happened) and just burst into tears.

I'd be inclined to report the incident anyway as it sound likely this woman will behave like this again.
I'm convinced motirists are either lovely and pull over/ stop when needed are irrational and irate!3
