Agree about the pension contributions. I'm already at maximum amount for my employer so no point.

Hi all, thanks for dropping by.
I went to Mr L's today and bought some cava - there was money off so it was only £4.35 a bottle - I bought 4. 😳 I also bought the purple label moscato you recommended Nicnak.
Unfortunately Mr L's was wiped out of compost though so couldn't get any of that.
I walked across to B&M afterwards and bought a few things there as well, mainly stocking up on snacks for DS, as their mini packets of biscuits are much cheaper than the supermarkets. I bought some iced caramel latte discs for my mum's tassimo as part of her birthday as thought she might like a wee change.
Also bought a basket to store blankets in to keep in the living room, I like to have lots of blankets for when I'm feeling cold and they were in a messy pile that DS (of course) kept jumping on.
Took DS to see my mum and stopped at the post office in the spar on the way - DS was very unimpressed and was screeching "I want to see GRAAAAAAANNNNN!" the whole sodding time I was in there. 🤦♀️ Thankfully there wasn't a queue!
My mum came up to ours for dinner and we had a nice time, I got her to take 2 cucumber plants and 2 chilli plants as well. 👍Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Thanks Nicnak.
I forgot to mention that DH & I measured out for the hedge at the front and will need about 10m worth. Looking online it's recommended to have 3-5 plants per metre. The price difference between the pot grown and bare root plants is really big! So we'll be waiting until bare roots are available in November, hopefully we can pre-order them in the autumn.
I also forgot about the cheeky magpies - we get milk delivered by the milkman 3 times a week and eggs on a Friday.
Yesterday morning I went to get the milk and eggs in about 6:30am as DD was awake for a bottle. I noticed one of the eggs was lying on the ground outside the front door broken. I thought oh it must have fallen out, then thought no the milkman would have seen it and replaced it. 🤔 Then I noticed a fluttering out the corner of my eye - one of the magpies was hiding round the corner of the house watching me - the wee !!!! had pecked the egg box to break the corner, pulled the egg out and broken a hole in it to eat it! 😱 Then it was watching and waiting for me to go back in the house so it could finish its' morning egg! 😂
Looks like it will be quite a nice day today, hopefully i can get a few washings done and hung out.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.3 -

Hi janb5 & Nicnak - yep I was really shocked at how cheeky that magpie was! 😂 It must have been one of the pair that visit our garden regularly looking for fruit to steal. They have been taking an interest in my rhubarb as well recently and keep investigating it. 😊
Yesterday I used up some apples that were going a bit wrinkly and made stewed apple for DD. I froze portions in a silicon ice cube tray and then put them in a freezer bag. I also did the same with some carrots and made some microwave rice pudding for her as well. I'm going to make up some mashed potato and freeze that for her as well.
I need to start giving her more foods and more combinations as she's too used to smooth things like yoghurt or purees. I've been feeling very uninspired and not sure what to give her although it's not really been that long since I weaned DS. I just can't seem to remember what I did with him. 😱 She has porridge in the mornings along with her bottle and it's slightly more textured as it's the 7 months plus version.
I made tuna wraps with cheese for DS & I for lunch today and gave DD part of a deconstructed one, so she had a few bits of the wrap and cheese and I gave her a few small spoonfuls of tuna. She really enjoyed it and ate quite a lot. For dinner she tried the mashed carrot and had a small yoghurt as well.
DH & I had another zoom quiz with my mum, brother & brother's gf last night. It was fun and good to talk to them. Of course my sister didn't join in as usual. 🙄
Have had a very lazy weekend so will need to get some housework other than washings and washing up done tomorrow.

Might be a good thing your sister didn't join in though!
I can't remember weaning DD at all. It was so long ago. The only thing I remember giving her is porridge!

True regarding my sister Nicnak. 😂 But then she will moan that she's being left out, 🤷♀️ can't win!
Yeah I'm having a bit of a blank over what I gave DS, I do know I was really stressed out about what food to give him and made lots of purées that he refused to touch. 😂 I also remember making a dahl for him and my MIL being convinced it would be too spicy and give him a sore tummy (he loved it). I know he loved rice pudding and yoghurts but apart from that I'm kind of stumped. I can't remember when I moved him onto more of the same stuff we were eating. 🤔
Today I've hoovered the living room and kitchen floors and have done the big clean out of the litter trays. I've also done the nappy wash and hung it up, DS's stuff has just been washed and is in the TD. Will have to stick another washing on shortly.
I did 20 mins of cardio tone and 20 mins of yoga whilst DD napped and DS watched stuff on the ipad. I've come to the conclusion that yoga with DS around isn't working - just constant "muuuummmeeee" then asking for fruit, juice, a different programme on the ipad etc so no chance of relaxing and working on my breathing. Will just have to get up early again for yoga.
I bought DH some spiced rum and two bags of coffee beans for father's day yesterday and think he was quite pleased with them.
Have been getting organised for my mum's birthday, I ordered a lovely personalised print of our family's birth month flowers from this site for her and bought a frame for it last week in the range. I also have a small gift box of L'Occitane stuff that DH had got as part of a promotion and gave me to keep as part of a present for someone so will give that to my mum too. Then I have the iced caramel latte discs for her tassimo, a small trinket dish I thought she would like and am also going to get her a bottle of Tanqueray Sevilla ( the only thing she actually asked for!). Just waiting to see if there are any special offers on the Tanqueray before buying it as have 2 weeks yet.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. That's a lot of thought into her present, I don't do so much for my mum, she never likes any of it.
