Just catching up with you. No wonder you're exhausted, what with the kiddies and all the other stuff you've managed to fit in. Yoga is fab for strengthening your back and core.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Hi Beanie and SA. :hello:
I think my missing sleep is catching up with me which is why I've been feeling so tired. DH is now on annual leave for a week and a half though, so hopefully I can get a bit more rest.
Managed to do another x2 10 minute yoga sessions tonight - one for core and one for upper body tension relief. My arms, neck and shoulders are really sore just now so the stretching helped.
Our garage conversion is now well underway - the electrician was in today - but it won't be finished until mid January as our joiner/project manager is stopping work on the 20th Dec until 6th Jan. Of course my MIL has invited herself up to stay mid-January.
Got very little done today apart from some more washing and online food shopping. I also booked our Christmas food delivery for the 22nd, will add what we need nearer the time.
I went shopping yesterday and managed to spend too much money. I stocked up on a lot of toiletries and nappies in Mr L and also bought some wooden play food for DS - very reasonably priced at £5.99.Need to stop buying things for him - it's too easy to keep picking things up but he doesn't actually need anything else.
I then went to the range and bought some Christmas decorations, including a wooden advent truck which was reduced from £12 to £6.I also saw some small glitter lamps for £6.99 which is what I had asked my sister to buy for DS & DD (one for each of their rooms) so I bought them and she will send me the money for them. :T I also bought a couple of small Christmas presents for our friends' girls.
Hoping to get out tomorrow and take DD into my work as they haven't seen her yet. There are 3 shifts so it will take a few visits to catch everyone.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Have been too lazy to update again.
Was out last night for my work Christmas do, the food was actually lovely and there were lots of different gins to try too.I tried a lemon cheesecake one, rhubarb crumble and pink grapefruit gin as well as a few normal gins and some beer.
Had a good laugh and surprisingly don't have a hangover today.Took the opportunity to wear the glittery skirt my mum bought me as part of my Christmas present as doubt I'll get to wear it on a regular basis. It's meant to be a midi length but was actually full length on. It was very nice although I was shedding glitter everywhere I went. :rotfl:
Got out last week and took DD into work, she was a big hit and quite a few people had a cuddle. Need to take her back in as have another shift to catch and a few people I missed the last time.
Have been busy trying to keep the house sort of tidy and at least clean. Managed to do the bathrooms (including the mirrors) and hoover the house upstairs and down, including the stairs the other night. Have a pile of ironing to do, should really try and do it this week.
Got our nieces to decorate the Christmas tree & put up my gel window decorations last weekend when they stayed over. I put the tree up, DH added the lights then I did the tinsel and beads before letting the girls loose. Also added some foil garlands and hanging decorations in the living room this year so it's looking quite festive.
DD loves sitting and looking at the lights and DS keeps trying to take the baubles off the tree and nearly pulling it over in the process.
The garage conversion is going well but will stop for a bit after today as we need to wait for the plasterer and electrician to be available and also for the window to arrive.
Have managed to get another few vouchers from survey companies so have used them towards Christmas.
DD had her first vaccinations a few days ago, which was worse for me than her in some ways. Hi SA, Dancing, Honeysuckle & Beanie. :hello:
The pub we were in has something like 100 different gins and gin liqueurs. My kind of place, they even do gin tastings - 6 gins for £20.Think I'll go back with DH for lunch & a gin tasting at some point.
Beanie, I like the rhubarb & ginger Edinburgh gin liqueur, yum. Have you tried the Whitley Neill raspberry gin? It's a full strength gin but still has a lovely raspberry flavour.
I feel like I'm getting there with the housework but then DH has been off work for the last week so have had an extra pair of hands. I'm sure it will all change again when DD is moving about as well.
Have taken it pretty easy yesterday and today - have done a couple of washings and stripped the bed. Also cleaned the utility room yesterday, including the muddy wellies, boot tray and inside door mat then mopped the floor, it was very dirty as we have clay soil and the back garden is sodden.
Wrapped the rest of the Christmas presents last night, only need to get a couple more things & I'm done.
Been typing most of this with DD on one arm and DS sitting on my knee. He likes to join in when I'm holding DD by climbing over both of us. :rotfl: DD already smiles when DS talks to her, it's very cute.
Going to make some quesadillas for dinner tonight as have mince to use up and have been super lazy with cooking dinners recently. I have lots of food/ingredients in but just can't be bothered making things.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Have been keeping busy the last few days as have felt like cleaning (this is unusual so I have to do it when I get the urge :rotfl:).
I cleaned the oven, including the glass panel in the middle of the door that I've not been able to get to. Finally managed to get DH to take the door off and remove the panel so I could clean it. Used a dish a washer tablet to get the burnt on stuff off and managed to get most of it. I would have kept going but DH was getting impatient and wanted to get the door put back together and back on the oven.
Also cleaned the fridge shelves and tidied it up. Got rid of some old condiments that I found lurking in there with a best before date of 2016.
Tomorrow's plan is to hoover the house, strip the bed and put clean sheets on and clean the bathrooms.
Have cashed out £20 from PA and £20 from another survey site as well. Also got £5 am@zon voucher from SB and £20 from shop&scan.
DS is really grumpy and dribbling all the time, so think his big back teeth are coming through. DD also seems to be starting to teethe as can feel a wee sharp bit of tooth coming through on her bottom gum and also one on the top. She's also very dribbly and a bit grumpy/unsettled.
DS had his front two bottom teeth at 12 weeks and DD is 10 weeks now so looks like she'll follow him with the early teething.
Getting our food shop delivered tomorrow and DH picking up a turkey crown from the butchers on Monday. We can also go to Mr M's if there is anything missing from the online shop.
Have managed 30 mins of yoga tonight, it's the first time I've managed any in ages so feeling a bit stiff.
Going to try and do the pile of ironing tonight, I got as far as bringing it downstairs last night but that was it. :rotfl:
Oh I found the lemon cheesecake gin on am@zon and it only cost £9 for 50cl.It's lovely to sip after a hard day.
The garage conversion is looking good, the window is now in but work has stopped for the festive period. We'll need to price up some blinds for the new window, which is something I didn't think about but hopefully won't be too expensive.
Have been talking to DH and we're also going to save up for new flooring & couches in the living room after the conversion is finished. We're also hoping to save for a new front door as the one supplied by the builders isn't great quality and we lose quite a lot of heat due to it.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
