It's so glorious up here at the moment - of course we're already starting to get comments about the lakes and reservoirs drying too much so expect drought warnings soon. A quick walk around the tarn at the weekend revealed two very proud (and rightly hissy) swans and 5 fluffy grey cygnets - so lovely.
I nearly got in my car and tootled up the motorway but refrained myself. Have got a couple of trips booked in over the next month or so. Look forward to seeing the fells and water !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Also nice to see a fellow fan of the trash TV that is Love Island! Was very wound up with last night's episode. I know there's a lot that's scripted, but I find it's good escapism

Stitches out in the morning, Can't wait as they are itchy now , the wound is very clean though.
The week off has been good for recharging my batteries, I have tried to do some walking everyday , have read two books and not done much else aside from washing and keeping everywhere tidy.
I have decided I am definitely not ready for retirement yet. Am not used to being stuck at home for a week, it was definitely an eye opener
Spends have been minimal , magazine 90p , stamp 67p, sweets £1.
My accounting has gone awry again, do need to get that sorted before Sunday night. I am able to claim back £25 for day surgery and also I have prescription sunglasses now so claiming £70 back for them. They were really needed and this week at home has proved it.
I can categorically say I don't like the weather this hot , about 22 c is my limit , unless I have a swimming pool to jump in.
Need to make a shopping list tonight as off for the weekly shop after the stitches are removed . Off out Sunday for lunch with friend and good catch up.
Think that's it , enjoy the weekend everyone .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi Cumbria
I hope the stitches come out easily and stop itching too. I had to resort to buying a bath brush to tackle the itching on my back. I just couldn't reach it. I also bought a little paint roller to use for putting on suncream on my back too.
I couldn't live without my prescription sunglasses. It makes life so much easier and it does help being able to see where I am going.
Have you had a look to see whether your local library has e magazines? I can even get them here. In this heat, i find a magazine is great as I struggle to remain focused.
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy Sunday lunch
Take care honey

Thanks DIA and Beanie, the stitches are now out, my nose is scabby now but definitely less itchy.
Spent the day shopping, cleaning and getting organised for next week. Shopping was £20.32 and £2.87 . No petrol needed as not used the car for a week until yesterday .
Have been planning the next couple of months I am thinking of going away for a few days in early August, it will mean using another day of annual leave but it's worth it . I can't last until December for my next leave. I am off in August but am doing childcare . Still not sorted accounts out properly .
Have £10.83 in PA so need to transfer that. I am out tomorrow for lunch , looking forward to that. Then need to do ironing , I am to worn out to do it today. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
