Hopefully the new seamstress is coming today. Just found a message from staff asking for today off, I missed it last night.
The hamster surfaced down stairs last night and is back in the cage for now. But although I have put a weight on the top of it he is a menace.
Bf helped me to mend my bed yesterday as the joints etc are loose, and swap a slat about as one was broken. Hopefully it will last me for a while longer now.
I am still struggling with my health this week and an not sleeping very well at all. I was up 3 times in the night. And woke at 5.30this morning. I did fall asleep after BF went to work at 6.30 until about 10 minutes ago when I was meaning to get up!
Luckily or unluckily there is not a lot of work in to do so I am hoping that I will be able to see how the new lady works on a few of my things and then on to customers things.
As staff has decided not to come in, she has saved me her wages, and I can do her work today. Hopefully it will work well. Although I would have liked her to have been in so I can show the new lady about and for the two to meet etc.
I am sure that the work will come back soon. It usually does and I don't want to be negative or worried but I am struggling.
The work outside is making a negative impact on several businesses.

Mooloo, you know your staff are entitled to a certain amount of PAID holiday, don't you?

Oh Yes, she gets paid her planned holidays etc according to hmrc guidelines, however these unplanned days she takes occasionally and volunteered for them to be no pay so she keeps her paid holidays for when she goes away.
Her actual contracted hours are only 16 hours but she tends to do about 20 hours at the moment.
She got paid bank holiday etc

DS came up trumps and paid another £170 on Friday for his rent. Without my nagging too! He may not yet be paying off his debt to me, but at least he has managed to cover the months full rent due which is brilliant and he didn't borrow anything or ask for help at all this month.
Did I tell you that his GF is also now working at the pub, so that they are able to both earn, and use their individual tax allowances before mr tax man gets paid.
I am hoping that they will settle down now into a routine of work and homelife with shared care of dgs3.

I have been laying awake for hours! My brain is in overdrive for all the things that I need to do today (now).
I am having problems with my embroidery machine and wasted several hours yesterday afternoon trying to get it to work-so near and yet so far.
My new Seamstress couldn't start Tuesday as expected and the work has been piling in. Which is a relief but also a worry as problems with various niggling jobs has slowed down the productivity and I am not sewing to the best of my ability. Too many problems.
Today is the day the Social Services come to means test me to decide if I am going to have the Guardian funding this financial year or not. So I am going to have to be home until after she has been.
Then I will need to go back to work and see if I can fathom out why my embroidery machine is not sewing.
At 2pm I have my massage as my shoulder left arm is not brilliant and at 3pm I collect dgd from school.
I may have to then go to see Mum as it's the day for helping her.
Luckily BF is in Austria so I don't have to rush back for him, and I hopefully can bring work home to do in the evening.
I have lots of fittings booked in the rest of the week and I have a prominent local MP coming on Saturday for several alterations to their wardrobe.
I am also renting out the workshop to a crochet group after closing time, so I will be working late while they are in.
My biggest worry is the embroidery followed by cash flow.
But as I am ever resourceful when needed, I am keeping my eye on the balances etc etc.
Do you know what I realised this week? That one of my savings accounts has £347 in it, and it is not allocated to anything particular in the budget. It used to be the savings for the car last year, and when I had the car, I still put money away into it. I used it in the juggle to pay DS's debt etc, and have been drip feeding the odd bits still in to it.
So I am going to try to fill it up to £500 next and probably aim for higher targets and save up to redecorate.
I doubt that I will have the budget to juggle so much if I loose the funding though.
I can hear the birds singing now. I hope that I can try and get another couple of hours sleep before I have to get up.!

Well I did get a little rest, as I nodded off listening to my meditation tape. I also woke again at 6am
I spent a few hours trying to find my car insurance documents and the relevant paperwork for the lady from Social. I photo copied the information she needed, although I had had to spend £66.99 on ink this morning! Eek.
She will let me know in writing about their decisions.
    I wait with baited breath
I contacted the highway people while I was waiting for her and asked what happened to our parking lines being altered etc
They got back to me just as I came out of my massage.
It was "overlooked" apparently as there was a work schedule raised, and they hope to have it done by the end of June!!! That will be a full year since my off road parking was done.
    We will see!
I told them that I was loosing patience and they were lucky today that I wasn't a first responder as I was blocked in most of the morning.
I did not get to get my embroidery machine working so after I collected dgd we went to my Mums and thankfully her machine accepted the file and we did my customers order at hers. But it took several hours as each design run took 35 minutes to sew and I had the test run and three customers items.
So budget was blown for a McDonald's for dgd and a ready meal curry from the adjacent M&S petrol station for me.
I then spent 40 minutes trying to erect the new hamster cage.
However I think it is too small for him as he fills all the tubes!
It was both funny and scary watching him squeeze him self through the various tubes.
I think I will have to get him/her a bigger one after all that. ( I know waste of money! But he (she) looks like a giant in a dwarfs kitchen!

Staff has asked for tomorrow off as she is needed at her daughter's. I really could have done with her at work as I have a complete motor homes Cushion covers to make on top of the clothing alterations to do. I can't expect my Brazilian lady to serve in the shop on her second day!!!
    I am not impressed really.
Funny how our opinion can change so quickly about situations and people.
I stayed up late hoping that tonight I might sleep
    So here is hoping.
    Night night all
