This happens a lot. I know of someone who does nails and it is not unusual for her to get a text at 5am for an appointment. Hubby asked if they were a postie0

Problem is if I turn off notifications then if any of my twins needs me they also cannot get hold of me, and we know when that happens they get all stressed and head into a tailspin!
Right I am at work, it's cold today but at least the sun is out.
A cup of tea to warm me and my fingers up before I start to sew.
A coat to line to start with. That will be fun! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I just want to put another perspective on the messaging issue.
I actually would not think twice about using a message facility early in the morning or late at night. I would message when I thought about it.
However, I would not expect a reply until working hours. I would not expect my message to wake someone up it disturb them I would think they have the capacity to pick up the message when they start work or are next available.
It's funny, I wouldn't consider myself rude I would think that the buisness person would have the facility to use a buisness phone when they are available.
I guess it's just a way of thinking but I do think that if you run a buisness you should have a work phone and message number and a personal one. That way at the end of the day you switch off the work one.
Just my point of view and maybe that of other customers.0 -
Am I right in thinking you own an iPhone? If so, you can switch message notifications off Messenger so you won't get disturbed out of hours, leaving Whatsapp or text etc switched on.
Go to Settings and scroll down to Messenger in the apps list. Click on then click on Notifications and turn the toggle to OFF on the Allow Notifications.0 -
Agree with ognum, although I tend not to text or phone at antisocial hours I do send emails at all hours. Although it has occurred to me lately that if people are accessing emails through their phones and don't switch notifications off overnight I might be disturbing them!Signature removed for peace of mind0

I agree Sue but this is part of he 24 hour a day life we lead now. In the past you could leave a message at any time on an ansaphone in the knowledge someone would action it when they were next at work.
More reason for a buisness only phone for messages and emails that can be switched off if needed. I might decide to send a message to someone on Christmas Day, not because I want them to reply then like I would on the company ansaphone in the past.0 -
Alas I can't afford two iPhones.
I will have to put up with it, as messenger is how my girls contact me most. Luckily I don't have email notifications switched on!
I certainly would never get any peace! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
You don't need an IPhone, an inexpensive phone one will do, mine has all the functions of an iPhone, messenger, email, etc etc and I have a £16 month contract, phone cost £120.
I know it's all expence but to run a buisness all these things need to be considered.0 -
Finances are very tight at this time of the year so I will persevere with the one phone.
My priorities are to keep the alternations moving effectively and to promote the other side of the business with the lessons and the shop sales itself.
I have had my X-ray on the hands done today so now I wait 10 days for the results.
I am just home long enough to make a cup of tea and read the mail.
I am waiting for DS to answer me if he wants to have a lift to the supermarket or not. I need a few things but could pick them up locally rather then go to Aldi if he doesn't need to go.
I have offered a lift but stipulated that I can't pay for the shopping for them.
Meanwhile I can now potter around my house and keep it tidy after last weeks blitz. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Put your phone on airplane mode at night and if there's a crisis, someone can get you on your landline.0
