Think I am definitely too far away. Curtains and Roman blinds I have managed to do long distance but not seating!
Are you going to be recovering them yourself or have you someone lined up to help?
You can buy fabric online easily enough. It is possible to have samples sent to you.
Working out the amount of fabric required is all about the maths side. Knowing the width of the fabric, and the decision as to whether you are going to use the same fabric to make any piping or not.

  • It wasn't the BBC who axed the sewing bee - it was made by the same company who makes the great British bakeoff ' love productions 'and the pottery throw down. When the two companies couldn't come to terms the BBC had no rights to the sewing bee. It remains to be seen whether another channel will rescue it as the bake off has been rescued. I was surprised when the pottery throw down appeared ,I knew it had already been filmed, but BBC were apparently refusing to air it in an attempt to force the arm of 'love productions ' to drop their price demands for the bake off.

I love all three programmes and agree that the sewing bee was a great encouragement for a new generation of people to get interested in needlework .

I very sad to see it go too. Even my OH enjoyed it, he always commented how the contestants helped each other!
By not recommissioning another series did the BBC not effectively axe it?
Sorry Mooloo, I didn't realise this was your thread

No, it's owned by Love productions who can take it to any channel they like. Just as they did with The bake off . I think love productions got greedy and shot themselves in the foot!

I'm sure the BBC are quite capable of commissioning a rival sewing programme themselves from another producer. They just don't seem to be bothered much these days.

I do sell some fabrics but currently not any campervan or cats that I can recall.
I saw lots at the show yesterday and will be having some reps visit me with samples etc soon.
Owls, Elephants and Flamingos are pretty current with foxes and stags too. I will definitely be trying to expand the fabrics. Although yesterday I ordered a new stand full of cotton threads. All I need now is to make space for them.
I could have spent a fortune if I had had it, but with most suppliers requiring minimum orders of £150 upwards I am not sure that I am going to be able to do much until the season picks up.
I am home early as I did too much yesterday and my body decided enough was enough. So I listened to it and decided that I had enough information and contact details etc and theat coming home and resting was a better option. So I have had tea and toast ( as I had a cooked breakfast), and have put on my hair dye that I had been meaning to do for about a month!
I did a food shop on the way home so dgd will have packed lunch sorted.
Mum did some of her shopping too. We also detoured to a charity ship in one of the villages and I got a john rocha coat for £5 and two duvet sets for £2 each. I am planning to use the fabrics from them to make things, up cycling at it's best.
I am looking forward to an early night tonight and tomorrow hopefully I will have limbered up a bit and can tackle the house work as I won't have to take Mum out and about after our little trip to Birmingham.
I have to sort out some information about my website and see what can be done to drag me into the 21st century.

I was in bed by 8pm!
I did wake a few times, and had my electric blanket up quite high a few times to ease my aching back etc.
I still struggled to wake up at 6 when the alarm went off though. I think I am just going to have to make a list and plod through it today.
I have the doctors at 6.50 this evening, I have been Waiting over a week for it. I am not really very sure that he can do much but we will see.
I am still off today as the shop is usually closed on Wednesday anyway so I am hoping to catch up on housework and then perhaps I will feel better about things. I am hoping that when I reopen tomorrow I will be busy, but not so busy that I don't get sewing done. I don't have staff until Saturday morning so I am going to have to do all the various jobs myself. I know I have a dress that has to be done and a set of curtains coming in for same day turnaround. Plus the work I got in on Thursday Friday and Saturday.
I am hoping that the last week of February is a good one, and I will be able to bank enough to pay the bills, or the savings account will have to be used, to pay the rent again. I need a bigger buffer next winter that's for sure.
Time to finish my tea and get moving.
Oh DS paid across his rent without my having to ask. But it was not as much as I expected. It will cover the existing rent but not the money he owes me. I have text and warned him that next week he needs to be paying Moreau agreed to help clear the debt. I didn't get a reply though!

Timer was set every 20 minutes through the day. I tackled the washing up, dried and put dishes away.(I usually leave on the draining board. I cleared and cleaned the kitchen surfaces, and I opened the new steam mop and did not only the kitchen floor but tackled some of the marks in the front room carpet.
I cleared the kitchen table, the coffee table and the dining table, the tv cabinets and the sofa. Which actually took some time as they resembled an episode of Horders.!!!
I also changed the bed, and put the washing on.
Put away clean clothes too. Biggest rang and was on the phone for 45 minutes and that was my day gone. 3pm out to get dgd. A 12 mile drive to McDonald's as I had promised her one and 12 miles back.
I have peeled the potatoes for mash, and soup. So sausages mash and carrots as they need eating up. Onion gravy a must with it. That's for BF and me. the soup is for lunch tomorrow.
I might even put a loaf of bread in the bread maker after I finish my cup of tea.
I have tried to concentrate on home and not work today.
