I read your post and answered as I did.
You don't have to like every reply, sometimes the truth can hurt when you are embarrassed you did something without adequate research and ended up with an unsuitable item.====0 -

The problem isn't that it doesn't do what I want, the problem is that it has stock apps that can't be moved and, because they require constant updating (like all software) will consume more memory than the phone comes with.
Why don't you address that, rather than behave passive aggressively?
4gh internal memory is to small for any phone unless it's for Doris who wants a smart phone to call and text family take some pictures and maybe use a little internet.
If you want a better phone buy one, there is no solution operating systems and apps now are basically made assuming a phone will have at least 8gig possibly 16 gig.
You can probably turn off automatic updates in the app settings though.0 -

Given the fact that you haven't mentioned the helpful posts at all and just keep coming back to the same line I'm beginning to suspect that you're now trolling. Just so that you're aware that is against the CoC.0 -
I had a Sony M2 from Vodafone with 8Gb , and to be honest, that was pretty useless. Put a few apps on and it was full. Most of it was taken up by Vodafone bloatware that cannot be removed or moved to an SD card either.
I think in this day and age you should be looking at 16GB
If Vodafone told you it would be suitable for your needs and it isn't, take it back but be prepared to add a few pounds for something that wont be a disappointment.0 -
Daughter had the M2 AQUA and she HATED IT with a passion. She would have given all the money in her piggy bank to swap it for a Samsung Galaxy. She had the Galaxy S2 before it and it just worked, in fact she still uses it for games and music etc with an extended battery in it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

You could see if there's an Android update for it, specifically Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later.
This has the 'adoptable storage' feature, where the OS treats the SD card as internal memory, and thus most apps can be shifted to that - far more than can transfer to or use the normal external SD. You have to proactively enable it however, and the card ends up being encrypted (fringe benefit).
I upgraded my old Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini to 6.0 ages ago, as WhatsApp kept on filling the internal storage with messages/pics/videos, and it worked a treat - everything ended up on the 'adopted' SD card instead.0 -
I didn't see anyone sneering. Vodafone sold you a phone that doesn't seem to be fit for purpose. Take it back for a full refund, and maybe they'll stop stocking it.
If you actually mentioned using or installing apps to them at all, they shouldn't have let you walk out with that phone.
As the helpful posters have already stated, find an phone with at least 8GB (I'd advise 16GB). And next time don't take your phone advice from a salesman.
This is a moneysaving site, not 'buy cheap tat' website. You've now had a wasted visit to a shop because you didn't do your research. No-one on this forum advised you to buy that phone. We all now have the benefit of hindsight, and 'You should have bought a better phone' might sting you a bit when multiple people keep pointing it out, but it's the truth and you know it.The phone does suit my needs, as I clearly stated in the first line of my message. The problem isn't that it doesn't do what I want,
Surely you can see you're contradicting yourself.the problem is that it has stock apps that can't be moved and, because they require constant updating (like all software) will consume more memory than the phone comes with.
See also every other smartphone. Just to prepare you for the disappointment. You could see if there's an Android update for it, specifically Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later.
Hilarious. A £20 4GB phone with Marshmallow?!!0 -
I saw a £20 smartphone in Vodafone today, thought I'd browse though I've no intention of buying from shops like that because they are all unstrustworthy.
From a old prior post by the poster
I think its best this poster on this subject is ignored0 -
I have to agree with otherf contributors inasmuch as you didn't actually ask a question. (Questions usually have question marks. Can't see one in your OP).
You made an observation that might be useful to others - i.e. don't buy a 4mb smartphone. And you are correct that vthe stock apps, many of which you don't need, clobber the space.
You can see if you can root the phone and then try to remove the bloatware. See if you can run an App2SD program to utilise your removable memory card.
Is there any outstanding question that you might like some of the contributors to answer for you?0
