I'm in again this month.
Sorted through my stash earlier and my stash is standing at 289. Think it is gradually going down but going to try to be better at using things on a regular basis.
Have started a business that sell toiletry related items so need to get my stash used up so I can use the products so I can recommend.Did owe £9,951.96
Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j

I'm in , just counted through my list and I have 208 (not including makeup as don't have a problem not buying that usually). I generally stock up most things in the sales, but went over board a couple of years back and still working on most of that so be quite good since. May get a few bits when Boots goes to 70% but depends what is left really.
UU for the 1st day: Soap and Glory mini Orangeasm super rich body butterDebt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -
Happy New Year Everyone!
Please can I join this month as the Massa household need to seriously declutter the toiletry stash due to so many items being "in progress" Xmas gifts and a little bit of Boxing day sales has also seen the stash grow this year, rather than decrease.
But to start off the year on a positive my first UU of the year is
1. Superdrug cherry & almond shower gel
My PP target list for January
1) Lush snowcake soap(sliver only left)
2) Gilchrist & Soames sample soap
3) Animal Body Lotion 125ml (new bottle)
4) Superdrug coconut shampoo & conditioner (both nearly gone)
5) Gilchrest & Soames shampoo & conditioner Samples
6) Boots simply sensitive face cream SPF15
7) Lush Angels on bare skin
8) Superdrug exfoliating face mask

I've not devoted as much time in 2016 to watching where the pennies were going as I should have, but I'm pleased to say I've managed to keep up my records for this challenge even though I don't think I was signed up for it.
I've thrown away empty containers of :-
1x body spray (already started)
5x conditioners (2 already open, 3 full but from stock)
1x day cream (already started)
5x deodorant (2 already open, 3 full but from stock)
1x facial wash (already started - seemed to last forever!)
5x shampoo (all already started)
4x shower gel (all already started)
1x toner (full, but from stock)
3x toothpastes (all already started - one of them being a cast off from OH)
The only purchases I've made have been :-
2x eyedrops (suffer from dry eye so needed from time to time, especially when wearing contacts)
2x lip salve (work outdoors, so pretty essential for much of the year)
1x shower gel. At £5 this was much more expensive than I'd ever pay, but a cashback site was offering it free if ordered as part of an on-line supermarket shop. That's something I don't normally do, but the same supermarket had sent me a £15 coupon that could only be redeemed against an on-line shop. Needed to get my spend to £40 for cheapest delivery charge, so £5 was a huge percentage of that - and then I got the £5 back. Would have been silly not to have bought this really
It seems very little compared to what I've seen others ridding themselves of (when I have dipped into challenge threads, and what I saw as a member in 2015), but it's not bad for me and it's definitely a move in the right direction.
Looking at what I still have in stock I reckon essential purchases in 2017 will once again be lip salve and eye drops only. But there is also a possibility I may need some more day cream with SPF (another essential given how much time I spend outdoors).
No list of targeted items from me, but I am going to make an effort to use more of the lotions and potions I only use once in a blue moon (such as hand creams, foot scrubs, foot creams, and moisturising lotions) over the year. So hopefully 2017 will see a longer list of UUs without a longer list of INs to match itCheryl0 -
First UU of 2017.
John Masters blood orange and vanilla shower gel. WBA lovely unusual fragrance. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
I'm a bit scared to count my items! I've got a giant IKEA plastic tub full of toiletries, plus a shelf in the bathroom. Make up is in the top drawer of my bedside table, plus a cosmetic case.
I've had a big clear through and have another medium size IKEA box of toiletries, hair colour, make up and scent ready to donate to a local shelter. Going to top it up once I've had another, post-Christmas prezzie sweep.
One of my plans for this year is to wear a bit more makeup on a regular basis. I rarely wear any to work, but I think it might be fun to do so a bit more often!
I also managed to use up a tube of toothpaste accidently today when I opened the cabinet in the bathroom and it landed squarely in the toilet bowl0 -
I will join as I have "benefited" from Black Friday sales a bit too much. Hope everyone had a good NYE and Christmas before that. I was hoping 2017 to have a good start but just had some bad news from back home, in the last few hours of 2016.
I don't have a list at the moment but have some products half used and sitting in the cupboard far too long and will focus on them first.ally.0 -
Hello all, lots of new names here. I took an MSE break for a while, and in that time I got offered a lot of toiletry and cosmetic freebies to review. Some of it very high end.
So having nearly graduated I am now so not near it, but haven't actually bought much at all. In December, 1 Aldee serum. That was it!
In the next month I won't need to buy anything at all. I'll trickle through the freebie reviews.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

First IN of 2017:
Lush ol blue skies shower gel - cannot believe how vivid a blue this is, im in love!!
First UUs of 2017:
Lush bubbly shower gel sample- WBA as full size, already have full size in stash. I liked the smell of this, kind of a champagne/orange smell like bucks fizz. This was quite thick in consistency too so i didnt need a lot and it lathered up really well.
Lush go faster feet foot lotion sample- WBA as full size, this is a HG for me where foot lotions are concerned. Sinks in almost immediately, has a lovely smell and does the job well. Imo worth the extra pennies. A little goes a long way.
Will have some ins from lush soon as have ordered from the german lush sale a few gift sets i was after and a few other bits, a lovely person picked me up a 12 days of christmas set from a store and another lovely person picked me up sone little bits in store too. And i picked up a couple of rose jams on ebay.
And guys, have any of you tried m&s perfume? I have a £20 guft voucher but couldnt find much in the way of clothing that i liked. Dont really want to spend it on food! Dont need any shower gels etc but may get a perfume if theres a nice one. I smelled a few but didnt find one i particularly liked but the store didnt have a lot of choice. Any reccomendations? No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018
