    Hi everyone,

Happy new year! I'm in again too. I'm not sure how regularly I will post as I'm mainly focusing on getting make up out of my stash and it takes me so long to UU make up products! I will be following along anyway.

I've switched up some of the items in my make up bag to get me using different things so that's a good start. I have also taken things out of my collection that don't really work for me which I mentioned I was happy to give away. Think I am going to send the remaining things to give and makeup. Still need to go through nail varnish and lip products.

I am also trying to UU a few old shampoos and conditioners that have been hanging around.
  • I've been waiting all last month to join this! :)

I checked all my stuff and I have approx 340 items to use! (Not counting shampoo/conditioner as I only ever have 1 at a time of those) Some of these are samples I've received so I'm hoping to UU those pretty quickly this month.

    PP for January:
    1. Garnier Miracle Wake Up Cream. (Not much left!)
    2. A nude brown No. 7 High Shine Lip Crayon, had to find the other one I have to know the brand as the label on this colour has worn off.
    3. A 20ml body lotion.
    4. A 40ml body lotion.
    5. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer. 7.1ml Sample. ( I have the full size already)
    6. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer. 5ml Sample.
    7. Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimising Primer. Sachet Sample.
    8. 2 samples of Benefit Brightening Eye Cream. Never used these as unsure of when? On a night before moisturiser? or on a morning before make up?
    9. Benetint, 40ml.
    10. Maybelline Dream Lumitouch Highlighting Concealer.

I also counted that I have 56 nail polishes  So I'm going to do my nails every Sunday night and use my older ones first to check if they need binning or keeping.
Most of my stash is make up though which is going to take time to use up. I have 37 single eyeshadows so I'm going to find a way to get them out their pots and into a magnetic tray so at least their not all loose in my drawer.

  • Hello from a complete newbie and a happy new year to you all! I don't have a huge stash of toiletries/cosmetics, but am trying to spend as little as possible over the next few months and need to use up some of the stuff I've accumulated. A new year = a new start on my UU and INs... managed to get all of my sales shopping done before the new year, so hoping that I will not need to buy anything new this year other than UU essentials... :A

I have also found out that I can use a little of the strongly scented body lotions if I use some E45 or similar first, so it's not quite in direct contact with my skin causing irritation. I guess if things last longer this way it will mean less money spent :money: and less TA!

    Welcome to seeking the sunlight.

Was a bit of an idiot today in that I made a trip into Manchester to collect my M&S order without checking whether the store was open. It wasn't so will have to make same trip tomorrow. Ah!!!!

One IN though. I have decided that I need to alternate the use of my L'Occitane shampoo with a colour care shampoo as my hair colour only lasted about 3 weeks last time. Bought a bottle of Kind Natured shampoo from Boots.

    However have 2 UUs:-

    1. Diamond Resorts mini tube of body lotion. Nice floral scent.

    2. Sample sachet of L'Occitane Ultra Shea cream as there was not enough of the above for whole body.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • Thanks Deleted_User for starting us off for the new year and welcome to all the new faces and great to see all the regulars. So after a very relaxing Christmas and the new year I feel energized to face the challenges ahead.
2016 was a really difficult year with more ups and downs than a roller coaster. So I open that life will be a bit kinder. I am really starting to realize buying more is not make things better- making the clutter worse, in fact.
I got half of my use up by Christmas list done and finished so they will move onto the use up by spring. This year im going to count my use ups as motivation to keep going.

    Finish by spring 2017

    Carried over from Christmas
    • Pixi glow tonic
    • Bioderma spf
    • Nuxe body cream
    • Guerlain serum
    • 6 pairs of contacts
    • One naked pallet colour shadow.

    New year goals
    • Trilogy cleaner
    • A foundation Lancôme
    • Aldi hand cream
    • Benefit concealer
    • Crabtree and Evelyn lavender

    Welcome Wibblygirl & seekingthesunlight.

VALM - I hit pat on Dandelion ages ago and it doesn't seem to have changed since.

I used my Naked2 palette all last month and I've used it loads before but when I look at the shadows I can hardly tell they've been used. Powder products take an age to use.

I have my first uu of the year

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense 15ml - this was very nice.
