Tossed a Rommel lip balm. Every time I used it, my upper lip cracked

I need this challenge in my life. After decluttering my dressing table, I was disgusted at how much things I buy that all fit the same category! I threw a lot of stuff away that hadn't been used for a long time. I then separated the stuff that I use regularly into my dressing table and the rest has gone into a bag to sell.

My PP list for January is:

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil
    Lush CoalFace
    Indeed Exfoliator
    Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturiser
    NARS Sheer Glow

I find it so hard to use up things that I have if I've found my holy grail. For example, my holy grail concealer is NARS Creamy Concealer so I use this every day so the other 21 concealers I've bought along the way are not getting used ... what do I do?! Suck it up and use them?

Welcome Kirstie. Re the concealers - are they all the same wand type as the NARS. If not perhaps divide them into two piles : those that are more suitable for undereye and those more suitable for blemishes/discolouration. I'd be tempted to then try and eek out your NARS supplementing it with one of the others. Also, if any of the others look like they may have separated I'd get rid. That way you may work through a substantial amount of them before needing to buy a new NARS one.

I had a little count up yesterday of all the lip products I used in 2016 - it was 8, some were full size but had already been part used, 1 full size brand new and a couple with only a small amount of product in. The downside was I bought 21 new lip colours:eek:.

My eyeliner stash is now SABLE (stash accumulated beyond life expectancy) I have so many and the one I am currently using is just going on and on despite using every day.

    Welcome to the newbies.

  • Put a few items from my stash on eBay that I knew I'd never use... Sold 4 overnight so that takes my OUT's to 8 so far :)

One IN which was a replacement for the used up shampoo - Alberto Balsam Raspberry - cheap and cheerful and does the job.

Loving the Vichy Normaderm face cream that I bought at the start of this month. Might be a new HG!
  • Hello ladies!

The Baylis and Harding chatter made me chuckle as I have a hand soap on the go in the bathroom and it's truly awful.

I have some UUs to report:
Eve Lom Morning Cleanse - WNB
I got this as a gift from SpaceNK and it's horrible! I used it all as I know she is a respected name but it smelt truly awful. It seems to be the case people think it smells of hops but I thought it smelled of fish! My skins been bad lately too and could be due to this or could be something else (such as all the fatty food and chocolate....)

Derma Care Sensitive Shower Gel - WBA
This did the job and was a massive LHJ as it was a 400ml size I got on offer.
It doesn't smell of anything though and I do prefer a lush gel or something. Didn't dry my skin out too much like some shower gels do. Have two small lush ones left in stash to use next. Then that's it I think shower gel wise!

    Superdrug hand and nail cream
    - WBA although don't really shop in Superdrug.
This was really old but really good although doesn't smell of much. Super moisturising but sank in quickly nice feel to it not too thick or too thin.

    Random perfume samples
Just using these up and have full size bottles of perfume I'm happy with so no mad rush to buy any.

    Laura Mercier primer - WMB
This was another gift from SpaceNk can't decide about it as my skins been bad and again don't know if it's from this. Did help foundation stay put and did feel nice on skin.

I'm now just using up foundation samples and a Bobbi brown foundation stick as a bit of concealer. Still no idea which foundation to buy when paid! I've really liked Bobbi brown skin which I've been using a sample of and have used in past, also liked Georgio Amarni Sheer foundation (the less 'glow' version of my old HG), also liked Mac Water Weight but not sure if clogs skin! I'm keen to try Nars though too!

I have a Topshop voucher to use so I could maybe try one of their foundations as it would be good to have a cheaper option perhaps....

Was smiling reading your post as I've been reminding myself that I shouldn't judge any product too harshly at the mo due to the overindulgence of Christmas. Did have a big blind spot that appeared on my chin though which thankfully has gone now that my intake of chocolate and alcohol has too.

The Laura Mercier primer pops up a lot in YouTube. Will maybe try it one day but do love my Laura Geller Spackle.

Foundation is so tricky isn't it? Emma used to use the NARS one but much prefers Urban Decay now. Maybe see what samples you can grab?

Firstly, have ordered my replacement Murad Toner. Only had to pay the postage following use of gift card.

    2 more UUs:-

    9. L'Occitane Divine Mask sample sachet Really like this. Will see how rich I feel when all sample sachets and present mask has gone as to whether I repurchase.

    10. L'Occitane Divine Harmony Serum Another lovely product. Have a Nuxe facial oil and at least 2 more sample sachets to UU and then will see if I feel a moisture boost on top of night cream.

Am just going to repaint my nails. Will be wearing OPI Rich and Brazilian.

  • Ha baylis and harding, they are one of the brands that doesn't make my dry skin flare up..must be because of all the cheap vasaline type stuff in it? I sadly don't have a sense of smell so thats not important to me..so People do tend to off load them onto me he he.

One use up , Along came Betty shimmer bath crystals. Not very grown up really despite the collection having a racy pin up lady on it, I think it's better aimed at pre or early teens. WNBA. Wasn't very sparkly and took forever to disolve.
I'm trying to find a very old all in one foundation and powder, was By Benefit alas I know they no longer stock it, so My "Job" ths week is to email and see what they suggest as an alternative. It was fab for coverng my Viltigo/cafe lait face up. Have a great week all x

Was it the Playsticks that you used? I see they have a product called Hello Flawless which is a powder foundation. Might be worth a try?
