It states that if I dont reply they will take me to court. As I live over 300 miles away from Leeds this is the last thing I want to do.
Let them.
They have to prove that you broke your "contract" with them. Obviously as you wasn't there, you could'nt of possibly done so.
In any event, you can ask for the matter to be dealt with at a court nearest to you.
I would follow the advice you have been given so far. I certainly would NOT phone or contact the PPC at this stage.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Stop worrying about that.
As Tilt writes above, in the unlikely event that you ever get a County Court claim, you can have the hearing transferred to your local County Court.0 -
If it got to court, all you need to do is say to the judge.
Sit, it is not my car, can I have lots of money please. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Unlikely, what has probably happened is that someone has either written it down incorrectly, or someone at UKCPS has worse typing abbilites than myself. Is it likely my plate has been cloned.
Do you have an clues as to where this car park was/is?.
I would be tempted to go for the landowner/whoever took on UKCPS, as principal they are jointly and severally liable for the actions of their agents, and if there has been a data protection breach then the buck should stop with whoever contracted UKCPS to act on their land on their behalf. From the Plain Language Commission:

ask UKCPS for the amount for breaking the data protection act?
Yes.
This is proving a very successful tactic.

When a parking company pursue a motorist but the charge is not valid, they commit a breach of the data protection act, for which judges seem to be awarding £250.
Legitimate parking companies have nothing to fear, but the bottom feeders are in for a rough ride.
We will help with the process which is very easy.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -
alas I think we need to know on wat date UKCPS accessed data first , as the OP clearly states that the letter says 10th Oct at 20.51 , and as such UKCPS could not get data legally during the date of the ticket and day 56Save a Rachael

You write to them! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
