At what age did you feel 'old'?

I will soon be 44 but I am yet to feel like a proper adult let alone old. I welcome growing old and grey. Have seen far too many family, friends and acquaintances be denied long life and view it now as a privilege. Part of the reason why invest so much of my time into maintaining strong friendships too. I fear ending up lonely far more than being old.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

I'm grey-haired (I gave in and started dying it two years ago).
I recruited a new recruit to my team who isn't only young enough to be my son, but to have been a son I had when I was 28 ...
And yet I still don't feel old. I don't even feel grown up yet.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Next year. Or the year after that. Possibly. Can't talk now, I'm playing with my RC helicopter and cars.
Well, I'm only 71...;)I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I was 20 at the time , I heard badly swearing 11-12years olds, I felt very old that time. It never appeared to me again and I'm 40 now.0

Most of the time I don't feel old only when I'm with my son. He fusses over me so much. Last time we went to visit he met us at the station, carried my bag, checked my Oyster card had enough money left, took us out for a meal ( and wouldn't let us give him anything towards it) then when we were due to leave called and paid for a taxi to take us to the station. It was all very sweet of him but I'm only 65, I can walk and 'have all my marbles' so stop fussing
I still feel as if I'm in my 20s but wiser.0 -
In my brain I am about 30, go to wash my hands and look in the mirror and think who is this old git.
Only 70 in years but do not feel old yet0 -
Yesterday (whoops 30 December) when my middle DD had her 26th birthday and I realised I'm twice her age, also she's expecting her first child, our first grandchild in the summer. Funny thing is that I have family & friends who were years younger than I will be when I become a nana but the words 'you're going to be a nana' made me feel old!0

I'm 46 and I think it was when I was about 45 I thought it sounded like I should be able to throw my age into the mix lol (think I'd finally realised I was at an age that actually sounded quite 'mature') - when someone's talking down to me, or treating me like a naughty schoolgirl (some like to do that at work), I do like to go on a bit of a rant when I'm telling other people and say things like 'I'm forty-f'ing-six years old !!!!!!...'.
I can't say I particularly feel 'grown up' though. I've not had kids so I think I've missed that rite of passage to become a grown up. I don't feel like one of the kids, but don't feel old-old. I'm starting to get used to the feeling of maturity. I like to feel wiser and settled - but I find it hard sometimes cos I feel 30-something!
Someone did think I was younger than him the other day (he's 39) and guessed me at around 32/33!!!! I've always looked younger so was well happy with that one - and no he wasn't trying to pull me LOL!!!!

For about 10 seconds in my mid forties when I realised that a new friend (new neighbour) a couple of years younger than me had a grandchild the same age as my child. Since then no, I'm only 70, well thats not true, in my head I'm about 19.0
