I felt old at 40. My body seemed to agree with me. Now 49 i have more aches and pains than ever. I have had manual jobs all my life so maybe an easier job you would feel different.

Wouldn't a manual job keep you fitter? I work in an office and some people there are incredibly lazy and will drive their car round the corner to buy a sandwich at lunchtime rather than do a 5 minute walk each way - they are not doing themselves any favours from a health point of view.

Physically when my periods stopped and blood tests confirmed i was post menopausal.

I'm with Judi on this one. The menopause, even though it has its bonuses, but that's when I felt I started to look my age.

    In about ten years time.

I shall be 86 next week and have much the thoughts and fancy the same things as I did many years ago.

(From the neck up I am a teenager. From the neck down a little older)

:j:j:j:j:j:j My sentiments exactly! I'm only 73, but my beliefs are the same as yours!

Earlier this year when it was approaching my daughter's 13th birthday. This lead to me thinking about when I became a teenager myself and the realisation that when that happened it was still the 1970s.

I feel old today for the first time, I'm 49, and I've hurt my knee (just by walking from the sink to the cabinet in the kitchen). I don't feel old at work as I'm still one of the "young" ones in my office ;).

I must be old ! Tonight is New Year's Eve and I shall be spending it tucked up comfortably in bed rather than out partying !! And that is by choice rather than lack of any other available options. :rotfl:
