Sending hugs... I know you had been concerned about your dog as he got older and the worries are behind you now, but it's such a hard thing to let go of one who's been part of your life and home. I hope the memories will bring smiles for a long time.
I'm sorry you are down a shift, it does make quite a difference so hopefully you will be first to be asked when cover is needed. I hope the extra evening off gives you some much-needed rest, though. The overpayments on the mortgage will happen when the money's not needed elsewhere.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you for your kind words Lucielle, SH, Spendless, SA, Willowtree22, ES and Cherryfudge. Am missing elderly lurcher very much…DD2 was really thoughtful and found videos that she had taken some years before where he was running and playing and it was wonderful to remember him like that and not like he was at the end.
I’ve been away from Job 1 for a week and a half and not sure I have achieved very much other that going to Job 2! I have planted up a prairie themed raised bed in the recently cleared bit of the garden. It has Rudbeckia and Echinacea in, which are giving some colour to that area. The plants were a gift so hasn’t cost me much other than the compost and wood to make the bed. I am enjoying being able to plant up the garden and “make it pretty.”
On Tuesday the next mortgage payment went out which is lower than last month and is the usual amount. I’ve decided to round it up so that I make an overpayment of £107. Not a huge amount but I’m thinking that every £ that is paid back is a £ less that I’m being charged interest on. I have a mortgage manager type app which tells me that I’ve paid £179 in small overpayments since the mortgage started and this has saved me £203 in interest!
I have lots of gardening that I want to get on with but the weather is putting a stop to that so am trying to continue to declutter inside. DD3 has finished painting her sister’s old room and making it her own space. SO very kindly fitted a new carpet that I’d bought so that looks much better ( 2 litters of puppies had shredded the edges of the previous carpet). The youngest DDs are moving into the room vacated by DD3 so it’s a bit of a shuffle around to make the space work better for us.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Lots of positives. I’d like a couple of ‘pretty’ beds but not keen on feeding the local deer population.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

The new area in the garden sounds lovely and the colour will make a cheerful focal point even in the rain!
I can imagine the children are having fun moving rooms and making new areas for themselves.
That mortgage app sounds so, so motivating! Overpayments really do add up, don't they? Yours are paying dividends.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I am so sorry about your lovely dog. Mine are 11 and I dread losing them. Dogs are so amazing, they just know everything and feel everything and are such a massive comfort. Big love XXXNevertheless she persisted.4

Being able to overpay by £107 is a huge achievement well done, the amounts will soon build up. I bet the girls are going to love their new bedrooms.4
