Please take care HS XXX It is an unpredictable git of a virus!
Nevertheless she persisted.3 -
Don't try to rush back to normal. Lots of stories of long covid seem to have started with over-exercising etc too soon afterwards. Hope you are okay. Thinking of you.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

@Honeysucklelou2 I hope you've got a bell and can ring it for room service! Get well soon xx4

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes. @Humdinger1 a bell sounds a great idea! I am trying to rest as much as possible. DS3 also tested positive on the same day so trying to rest with an asymptomatic child is a challenge! DD3 has now thankfully tested negative twice and is on day 7 so I think can be free now. Poor soul has had to do 2 uni interviews online during her self isolation period. DD1 has essay deadlines looming and is quite stressed about those so although she is helping with meals, I’m trying not to ask her to do anything else so as not to put any more pressure on her. DD4 is mid mocks so similar state.
I am thankful for the sunshine through the window and for the colour of the Camellias in the garden. The benefit of having the windows open for ventilation is being able to hear the birdsong more clearly. There is much to be thankful for 🙂.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . As always, your camellias are well ahead of ours! How lovely to know they are on the way.
What shade are yours? Our neighbour has a vivid pink.
It must be a lot of pressure having all those exams and plans going on: you could do without Covid of course. Though on another level enforced rest is probably energy in the bank for you and cooking for the household is a practical thing to help your DD balance the stress of her essays (I always used to need exercise after handing an essay in! And in those days I wasn't the exercising type).
Please can you send some sunshine up north? We've got freezing fog here which is very lovely on every twig but I'm not checking it up close.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Thank you Cherryfudge, Lucielle and SH.
Cherryfudge - the camellia is a vivid pink one, not entirely sure of the type but think it could be a variety called “Donation”. It usually flowers prolifically for about 3 months...well deserving of the space in the garden!
Its been such a weird week. I’ve been doing lfts everyday but have still been testing positive 🥺. Today’s result is still positive but thankfully is fainter than previous test results so am really hoping that Covid is on its way out. Between 4 of us, Covid has been in the house for a month now...ready for it to go. I have made myself rest ( not that I’ve had much energy as tiredness has been the main symptom) but not being able to get out for walks has been tough.
Having to self isolate has meant that I’ve missed my shifts at Job 2. I don’t earn enough to qualify for SSP and because I have Job 1’s income, I can’t get any self isolation support so the bottom line is income is down this week and will be next week too as I am paid weekly. I’m not sure yet what Job 1’s pay will be at the end of the month so trying to make sure that spending is minimal at the moment.
Having some time to think about finances has helped me to decide allocations for savings accounts for this year. Most of my savings got wiped out last year on legal fees so I do need to build savings pots up as a priority. DD3 is hoping to go to uni in September, so I’m very conscious that I need to have built up some savings to meet the cost of getting her to uni in the first place and getting her kitted out with essentials. Not having those savings there for DD1, simply because I couldn’t at the time meant extra debt which I’m keen to avoid this time round. Part of me can’t believe that DD3 is old enough to head off to uni 😱.

Glad the positive line on the LFT is growing fainter - it is a good sign. Hope you manage to save. Sorry you have this hole in your finances. Hoping and praying with you that things improve for you soon.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
