I hope the visit to the vet has brought better news. It's awful when pets are under the weather, especially as the y get older. Hugs xI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you CCL, Flipflopflo, SH, Janb5, SA & Cherryfudge.
I rang the vet and got an appointment for Monday morning. The vet checked the elderly lurcher over but could find nothing obviously wrong and no lines of enquiry that he felt needed checking. It’s weird, his breathing was awful on Sunday. We lost his mum to heart disease so my immediate thought was that he was going the same way. The vet checked his heart though and said it was fine and that he was a low risk for heart disease. The elderly lurcher had been whimpering as well on Sunday so the vet gave him a painkilling injection to deal with any pain he might be in and he has antibiotics for a touch of dermatitis. By the time I picked up the three monthly flea treatment, we seem to have had quite a bit of medication! Im very thankful he is still with us, I really thoughtI was going to lose him on Sunday evening. Today is the first day he has eaten his food and he was keen to go on a walk this evening, both good signs!
Ive been at work today and yesterday afternoon. We got called in so have been busy trying to get my room ready for the start of term. All my older children were working so the younger ones had to come with me. Bless them, they were very patient . I’m not planning to go in tomorrow but hope to have a picnic with the younger ones. I’m very conscious that there isn’t a huge amount of time left if the summer hols as we are back in on the 1st, so want to make sure I get some time with the children, especially the younger ones. When we go back to school it will be a logistical challenge, so am keen to enjoy the comparative calm now!
MSE wise - not doing so well. The unexpected vet bill had to come out of the car pot so am really hoping for a straightforward MOT at the end of the month. NSD today!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
