Oh HSL! I'm so sorry about your poor dog. Definitely report his dog. That's awful. Are there vet bills?
I know you can't lock him out and I totally understand why.
I'm so glad of your break. Maybe focus on you more than the house xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

Honeysuckle no wonder you feel like ripping that card up, what a blinking cheek. You're doing so well not to react and trying to include ex in things like the children's birthdays and he's just throwing it back in your face with his horrible behaviour followed up by his claims of "love". You must be counting down the days until you can have a house where he can't just let himself in, that must be so upsetting for you.
Good luck with your projects, I'm sure you'll manage them no problem.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.5 -
Thank you Sashybo and Kitten868.
Fortunately there haven’t been vet bills this time but have been in the past both for my dog and the neighbour’s dog.
I have kept busy all evening and got half of the walls washed down with sugar soap in preparation for painting. I’ve ordered a couple of small tools from Ama3on to help with the adhesive and grouting. ( I have very little DIY tools, just a couple of paint rollers, a tray and screwdriver.) At least looking at the clean side of the room, I feel that I have achieved something today!
I got 2 trays of tomato seeds sown too. I was given some seeds for Christmas, interesting varieties such as “green zebra” and “ponderosa pink” which sound intriguing. Both seed trays are in the propagater . In tidying the kitchen earlier, I found some Calendula seeds harvested from the garden last year so I’m hoping to get those sown tomorrow 🙂.
Made a payment off a debt today so am £73 less in debt this evening than I was this morning. Slowly but surely...paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Well done on the debt repayment
Can't believe the audacity of your ex leaving flowers and a card, I would want to burn them too.5 -
Thank you Lucielle and VelvetFreak.
I’m very thankful that today I can access the forums on my tablet again🥳. Having read through the snagging thread, on my phone, I realised that the software wasn’t up-to-date, so that was why I kept getting a blank white screen. Today the downloading stopped and I’ve very happy to be able to read on a bigger screen again. The phone was good for accessing it in the meantime but difficult to follow the whole length of a thread.
lots of decluttering today, particularly magazines and old newspapers . I think I’ve almost filled a bin bag with things .paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Heve you thought about making paper bricks out of your newspapers and mags? Could potentially dry in the greenhouse, then use them on the fire.

Now that’s a good idea. I’ve seen those brick makers...fab...will look into that, thank you Lucielle and SH.
Today has been nicely busy...got a bit of baking done this morning ( 2 lemon drizzle cakes and a batch of vanilla muffins ) before my parents visited. They brought their dog ( who is a lovely, gentle, well-behaved dog) and the contents of their fridge as they are away for a few days! My mum always saves her brown bananas for me because she knows I’ll make cakes with them, so tonight’s task is banana bread.
After their visit DD4 and I popped to the allotment . There seemed to be a break in the stormy weather where the wind dropped to just a breeze and the sun came out. It only lasted for a couple of hours before the hail showers and stormy winds started again, so we made the most of it. We have hacked the remainder of the brambles from around the greenhouse ( think Sleeping Beauty type bramble growth covering the sides and attempting to cover the top). Today we hacked it back so that light is coming through and the 2 remaining blackthorn saplings that had sprung up inside, are now gone🙂. I think that one more good stint should mean I can clean the windows and tidy up all the old pots, ready for new plants 🌿. I’m trying to do bit at a time so that I don’t become overwhelmed with all that needs doing both inside the house and at the allotment but chopping away at each task feels like I’m making a difference.
