Is it bad that my 10 year old is in charge of food rather than my husband?

I'd say it's good that a 10 year old is being encouraged to be independent but how come your husband missed the boat?:DMy DH comes from an enormous family and the eldest 4 are boys (he's number 3) so everyone had to help out regardless. DH and I split everything down the middle. He does breakfast every day, I do dinner and we get our own lunches. I gave him a list of breakfasts I can eat when I started SW so no problem there.

I have the same problem as you lois, and I think greentiger does too. I seem to lurch from one restaurant/pub meal to another. These days I go with 'if you can't be good be careful' mantra. When I was getting to target I tried to stick with steaks and omelettes but it was very boring.:( Enjoy your Thai meal, they're not the most synful.;)

I'm going to make some bacon and lentil soup this afternoon. I'm very low tech. I don't have a soup maker and any blending is done with a potato masher.:rotfl: We're having a roast for dinner as we'll be out tomorrow for lunch so it's a substitute. I'd miss having the LO veg as much as the meal itself.:D

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage, HEA milk
    L: veggie omelette with pickles
D: lamb shanks braised on leeks, carrots and parsnips with SW roasties, cauli, red cabbage and broccoli
Syns: squirt of syrup, weekend wine.:j

He was brought up by my mother-in-hell!
His older brother still takes his washing home for his mum to do!

I have taught my husband to do beans on toast and cheese on toast, but he struggles with anything more.

  • Can I come crawling back?

Not had the best of weeks.....for the first time since I joined SW I turned to biscuits when hubby naffed me off....he was lucky not to be wearing his soup one day.

I'd like to join the next challenge if I can and I'm going for a stone which will take me to a 3 stone loss

a half lb off more me this morning! Happy enough, as long as it's coming off I can deal with it being slow. I've no real rush for anything in particular and pleased with my self for managing my stress eating better . I will get there in the end! Hopefully towards the end of the year : ). Name for the challenge works for me SHala ! Gym done today, bit of retail therapy and now to relax ! Have a lovely Saturday everyone

    Is it a significant birthday?

It's not Lois, it's my 41st year.. but we seem to have organised a bit more than usual, and it all revolves around food :o:(

Welcome Lizzie, well done on your loss so far :T added you to the challenge.

Happy Birthday for Monday Tweets! _party_
Love it. I was trying to think of something clever but the best I could come up with was 'spring into spring' :o

OH came up with something about being bling in Spring but I wasn't sure it worked.. :D
Did go as a very camp Dennis the Menace one year. It was cold in shorts so wore tights as well, got some very strange looks while waiting at bus stop with son that day :rotfl:

I'd have loved to have seen that.. it takes me a while to work out what's going on when you see loads of kids dressed up in the street.. must be a fun day though.

    Menu for me today
B - bacon and egg sandwich (heb) sauce (1)
    L - nectarines and yogurt
T - chicken tikka biryani (if I can find a decent recipe - onion, peppers, chicken, rice, salad
    S - crisps (3.5) hifi (3)

Jumping on the 777 bandwagon so 7.5 syns today, 4 glasses of water so far and not very good on the speed (just 4) hmmm this isn't going as well as expected :rotfl:
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

I've had the day from hell today!
STS at weigh in. Utterly lost the plot now- I'm thinking what's the point? Mum isn't helping- she keeps telling me to go to the doctor and get slimming pills! Every time I tell her the same thing, that doctor has said no because of my heart condition and she just keeps saying 'stop making excuses!' Then in the next breath she says 'you really have to try to lose a little bit of weight' even though she knows I'm trying until I'm blue in the face and nothing is happening
Also our new hob isn't working- OH has decided this is my fault and proceeded to scream blue murder at me about it. This was all while I was trying to prepare chicken chow mein and egg fried rice from the Fakeaway book. I ended up having to dump everything into the Actifry and it was disgusting. OH ate the lot but I dumped mine in the bin as I thought it was inedible :( and then I ate a full bag of prawn crackers and necked an entire bottle of alcohol free rose!!
I've been dragged round buying kitchen things today (I say buying as I ended up paying for them ) Have spent most of the day in murderous mood with OH, particularly when we went to collect our order from B&Q and he parked in a normal space across the other side of the carpark from the shop. I asked him why he hadn't parked in the disabled spaces (I have a blue badge) and he said 'this shop hasn't got any and we can just nip in from here' I exploded with fury then- I pointed out it was throwing down and i was in absolute agony with my legs and wouldn't be 'nipping' anywhere! He did have the good grace to look sheepish when I shouted at him 'no disabled spaces eh? What are they then?' When we walked past them.
And to top it all off my rugby team lost 22-0 to the bottom side in the league and the fans forum are all calling for the managers head
Needless to say I haven't been on plan today :D
Sorry for rant everyone! Feel like the world is against me today :(
