    1x double quilt
    1x kingsize quilt
2x old pillows to the tip.

Checked with local dogs home before getting rid of the quilts first, but they didn't need them.

Off to look for a few more bits.

eta: Went through just one kitchen cupboard and got rid of almost a bin bag full of out of date stuff *embarrassed*

  • Well, it's nearly the end of my week off :o

I feel i have accomplished so much re: tidying up the house, but there are a couple areas that have been missed but mum has promised me she'll help me with them next weekend :D

I bought a new computer monitor which arrived yesterday and it has inbuilt speakers so i could get rid of the old ones which were dying anyway - very crackly and near impossible to turn the volume up/down with the external volume control on the back of the speaker. I gained back a socket space too which then started off a bit of an overhaul of sorting out what was plugged in where :rotfl:

I also bought a larger TV unit which is a corner one(my TV is in a corner so made sense) off someone on one of the selling sites this morning. It has 3 shelves rather than 2 so one of mine and bf's 3 games consoles that was on the floor has now joined the other 2 on a shelf(this one wasn't plugged in so this prompted yet another overhaul of what was plugged in where :rotfl: ) and it's games are on the little shelves on either side of the TV unit now eliminating the need for the small, broken rack that was on top of the games console when it was on the floor :o

During the 2 overhauls of the sockets and plugs, 2 items got unplugged(broken PC speakers and this tiny tube heater i had in the window to try and combat condensation) and one was plugged in so i have gained back one space. I don't leave chargers etc plugged in when they're not in use so there are 3 sockets there that can be used for things like chargers, my heat tools for my hair etc.

I'm pretty sure I'm losing weight too as i put these joggers/sweats i use to wear all the time on the other day after not wearing them for a few weeks and they're a bit looser than i remember. They keep falling down onto my hips so them and another similar pair i was given in the same size went onto the charity shop pile.

Talking of the charity shop pile... :o

Completely forgot to take it away on friday... I think because we have been doing so much and going to see everyone and do all the things we can while I've been off work it just slipped our minds. Really though i think I'd rather try and sell what i can, then take what i can to the charity shop, then everything else can go to the tip/out for the bin men :)

Not my best day, but finally sold one my baby seats on Gumtree, so super pleased with that. Still loads of big baby bits to go, it's not selling as well as I'd hoped despite it all being clean and reasonably priced, but hey at least one thing has gone. When it gets near to payday at the end of the month I'll try deleting and re-listing everything to bump it up the search results and hope that helps.

Oh,I am so pleased with my day today :j.
    133: from loft,a slow cooker,never used,sold for £15.
I have only been counting items out since this challenge started, but have been trying to get the house back in order since we moved back in after extension in May.But since I started seriously decluttering in October, this is one of the first items I have listed for sale, and the first to be sold. (I was knocked down from £20,but that's ok-very pleased to have it gone after about 7 years of making me feel guilty for never using :o.)
I have a second item should be collected on Tue,but will list then.

290-292:I also gave the lady who collected,3 slow cooker cook books, new and never used .Again, very pleased to have out of the house.
There is also another item that should be being collected on Tue,but will list then.

Only other bits out of the house after hanging around too long, are:
    293:Kinder toy
294:Slimming World "slimming journal",given to me a few years ago-recycled

Usually Sunday is my day to clean/tidy/blitz/declutter/whatever I feel like all through the house. What I like to do is clean the whole house, then spend a bit of time decluttering (or planning kitchen cupboard space,or whatever whim I have on the day :o).Well, today I was determined to clear the mountain of stuff that has been again the wall in my front room.I have been gradually chipping away at it,and today,it is gone :j:j:j.Now,to be honest, some things have simply been moved:
    - box of old journals to under stairs, neatly stacked with other boxes
-items to sell put in my poor son's built-in wardrobe. It was always used for storage, before it became his room, but now it is just about full to the brim, and I need to start selling stuff, then he will be able to use it if he wants
-some stuff sorted, and ikea trofast trays moved to loft (got about 3 IKEA units to sell).

Not decluttering, but the other very productive thing I did today, was clean my ovens :o.For the first time I cleaned them using only baking soda and vinegar, which worked very well.Wont ever buy commercial products again, especially since I always seem to burn myself with them .Of course, the fact I could multi-task (leaving oven to clean itself while decluttering),was a bonus :rotfl:

  • Hi
Filled the back of the car with stuff out of other garage and current storage place ,and took it all to the tip,
    2 bags to CS.
Moved 4 BIG boxes of material down from other house, projects in mind -so that will get rid of some excess stock!

suzeesu2000 - Someone on Freegle wanted a mirror, any type - bedroom, bathroom,

I messaged to say I had the mirrored glass (24" by 48") but he was willing to have it if he wanted. He did. Had just moved into a rented property where there were no mirrors. He collected it that evening and was so pleased with it and commented that there was nothing wrong with it, no scratches or anything.

I was so pleased that it is being used after 7 years in a cupboard!

Just realised that I've not counted anything for ages

    1311 - mirror (as above)
    1312 - printer
    1313 -1342 - electrical items
    1343 -1372 - paper
    1373 - mug tree

Went to a birthday party/took biscuits and bread, plus took 6 items to swap (game) but came home with none as nothing I wanted was left to swap with!

    1374 - small handbag mirror
    1375 - bracelet
    1376 - 1378 - 3 packets of biscuits
    1379 - scrunchie
    1380 - mug
    1381 - purse
    1382 - bread
1383 - 1390 printer lead to son plus various other cables/leads

I need to think what items went to the charity shop the other day - my daughter saw my bag ready to go when she came over the other day and we went in her car to her local charity shop. Do not think I had written them down anywhere, but can remember some of the things. Will add to next list.

  • Just sold 3 of the 4 toiletry sets my bf said he will never use :o

And then bought 2 tops off someone :rotfl:

I managed to keep my money and the money made from the sale of the toiletry sets separate tho so my bf is £4 up and 3 toiletry sets down and I am £1 up and a small item that the lady who bought the toiletry sets also wanted down, but then £4 down and 2 tops up, if that makes sense!

Still, I see it as getting rid of things we don't want and buying things with the money made that we do want :D

Not much going on around here lately as mum and I are back to work now but there is some big news, kind of...

This is quite hard for me to talk about, but my dad likes to have a drink, quite regularly, every day in fact. He's in poor health as it is due to being born with a limp which was operated on in his teenage years and that just made it worse, then he had a gliding accident in his 30's which damaged his back quite badly. Then he took to the bottle when me and my brother were young and his health has slowly declined from there. There was a point a few years ago where he went for a routine dr appointment but his skin had turned yellow apparently and the dr said he was jaundiced and had him rushed straight to hospital and he had to follow a detox program to get off the drink or he was going to die. But then a few months rolls by and the drink has crept back in :( Not only that, but every time we try to talk to him about even just cutting back a little, he get in a right paddy and we all get shouted at...

Fast forward to this past weekend and it's the usual situation we have become accustomed to - dad has a can on Saturday and 2 cans on Sunday. Mum throws a fit when asked to buy it for him. She moans at him when he falls asleep after drinking said can but before dinner is ready. Cue usual early evening bickering/arguments etc. etc...

Yesterday morning, I learn that dad has been given these new tablets to take by the dr, but he MUST NOT DRINK while taking them. I think "pffft yeah fat chance of that happening!" I go about my usual before-work routine, I go to work, I get home in the evening, expecting dad to be soundo, mum to be doing her usual things and so on...

    Ohhhh no...

Dad is up and about, about to have his dinner, sorting out some of his things in the living room.

I was literally shocked. Then mum told me the story of how dad is kicking the habit now and when they went to the shop earlier in the day, when mum came out with no can for dad he said to her "I thought you would have forgotten"(to NOT buy a can).

So - in essence - not decluttering in the strict sense, but to us, a decluttering of a substance than literally destroys people if abused :o

Oh, and also - I didn't have my usual energy drink on the bus yesterday morning! :j

I usually have one on the bus to work every morning but those things are so full of caffeine and sugar and I have coffees(with sugar in) in the mornings before I leave so what's the point in the energy drinks? they're usually over £1 each time too so that's a saving of a fiver a week! :D
