MSE Cheap Energy Club

You sound as confused as I aim with doing a switch and to go with whom. Cheap and could of problems or pay more and have a little more or a peaceful switch.
I looked at Sainsbury's energy 2/3 weeks ago, with my figures cheapest was £115. Today, I randomly check again and there's a new tariff showing giving me a quote of £101. Think as under British Gas Gas, this is the route I'll now take, as other option S/power seem to to have many complaints. Plus, I was with Sainsbury's energy before my move to E.ON v19, which ends soon.0 -
... and you thought getting car insurance was like a lottery! I think the strategy will be to wait until Energy Helpline publish their collective results on 14 Feb and compare them with the best that's available non-collectively and then jump. If that means I end up with a few days on standard variable so be it. [Like you I have been on the Sainsbury / Brit Gas / E.ON ... merry-go-round in the past]Telegraph Sam

My deal ends 21st Feb with E.ON's v19. Was a fab move from S/Energy at £126 per month to £86.50 per month. Going to miss that. I don't know what the Energy Helpline is to be honest , lol.0

On the basis that MSE and another one (cannot remember their name but they have had deals with The Sun) failed to come up with anything nothing very competitive is expected.0 -
Just another collective...

I don't think this is the same as

Who knows at this stage how the results of their auctions will compare.Telegraph Sam

There have been no market-beating collective tariffs since prices started to rise. Suppliers do not want to pay PCWs referral fees to retain existing customers.
Ps Going for a big supplier does not guarantee a painless switch. Only a few switches go awry. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Note, in this weeks Newsletter, some parts of NW England may be included :If in Wales, Scot or parts of NW Eng, we hope to have a mega-cheap collective deal, launching next week. It's where a trusted intermediary (eg, us) uses its power to get suppliers to bid to offer a cheap deal. Anyone who gets this email, or is registered for Cheap Energy Club, will be eligible if it happens. When we say NW Eng it's because it's likely to include the 'Manweb' region - mainly N Wales but also parts of Cheshire, Merseyside & N Shropshire - its meters start '13'.Fred - Where's your get up and go?
Barney - It just got up and went.

I've started switches to Better Energy and Iresa already from my EON MSM collective tariff.
IF MSE come up with a "super cheap" deal, then I can withdraw from those switches -but it'll have to be pretty ***** good:rotfl:0 -
I was going thru my "old"spreadsheets this morning and uncovered an interesting fact - the Iresa/Better energy deals I'm currently switching to, are cheaper than the initial collective CEC deal that moved me to EON in the first place,in late 2014!
So ,altho' I'm looking at an increase of ~ £170 pa compared with the current supercheap EON deal ,I'll be over £100pa better off than I was in Dec. 2014:T0 -

I'm currently on the BG fix ending 28th Feb and looking at going to separate suppliers too.
Out of interest....
1. Do the poor Iresa customer ratings not put you off?
2. Are there any penalties of withdrawing from a switch once it has started? I want to wait to see what comes out of the auction on 14th feb, but don't want to leave it too late incase the prices are worse than today's offers.
