MSE Cheap Energy Club

I am currently in the BG Collective deal finishing end of February.
Yesterday I received an email advising me that MSE had negotiated a deal which covered selected areas including mine (Cheshire) and was the EDF Simply Fixed dual fuel tariff.
I have tried to locate this deal but when I log in as usual I cannot find it, I am advised -"Sorry, the filters you've applied have filtered out the collective tariff".
I have changed all the filters and still cannot see this tariff - would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks
Hi Avro11 - I'd suggest clicking on the top picks tab (the one with Martin's face on it), you should see it there.0 -
Hi Dan,
I did all of the above, but none of them resulted in the Welsh deal showing. I keep getting a message about my 'filters not allowing' the deal to show. Like others in this thread, I've removed all filters, but the deal still won't display.0 -

Thanks...
EDF Collective switch much more expensive than IRESA, doesn't make sense!
I thought so too, but decided Iresa was too big a risk so I opted for EDF who I have been with previously, and were excellent. Let's hope there are better deals on offer in a year's time.0 -
As someone predicted, for me the collective fixes have so far failed to impress. Looking through the alternatives I'm inclining towards switching to Tonic Positive taking costs and review ratings into account. Has anyone on this forum had experience of Tonic?
In doing my research I came to the conclusion that you cannot always take the search engines' predictions as gospel. There are more search engines than I had thought (see energylinx.co.uk and energy-advise.com) and rather disconcertingly they don't always come up with the same results. I have now resorted to cross-checking the conclusions using a simple spreadsheet tool into which I put the original tariff data, and coming to my own conclusions. In one case (Green Network) the provider seems to be agreeing that there is a bug in their own forecast which is reflected in what at least one of the search engines say.Telegraph Sam

Tks - useful info. Is it my imagination that there's a certain amount of snakes and ladders in the cost comparison stakes? Even if reports of positive / negative experience would "stick" on record for longer. I seem to remember reading some not so positive feedback on Avro and Iresa and Economy Energy a short time back. Each of which is at the cheapest end of the scale (for me).Telegraph Sam

I'm now out of the cooling off period for my switches away from EON - I'm hedging my bets (slightly!) by splitting my supplies for the 1st time since 2000! I've gone with two smaller suppliers because the difference in cost (cf with the Big 6)was so large -seems to me that the big boys are padding prices to ensure that their profit levels are maintained under ANY circumstances whilst the smaller suppliers are flying by the seat of their pants.
A lot of faith in the "supplier of last resort" clause and a hope that what happened to GB Energy customers ,has established a precedent!!:)0 -

Hi Princess Lou Lou
That sounds rather strange - though I'm sure there's a straightforward explanation.
If you drop us an email we'll be able to double-check your account for you. You can reach us by emailing energyclub@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Am I missing something or does Green Network Energy not figure in the CEC listings, and if not, why?Telegraph Sam
