And so the summer holidays are here :j :j :j

We've had a mad busy day, then after work I have come home and blitzed the housework, done the washing and ironing, done some shopping for a few bits and pieces and taken ds to his counselling. Then we've done the packing for our little train holiday :)

So tomorrow ds will do his paper-round then we'll hit the road at about 8.30 am :D

Here's to a happy and memorable 6 weeks of fun :D:D

So after several hours of driving through torrential rain we have arrived at our holiday train and we love it :D It's not a conventional holiday, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but for ds and me it's perfect :)

I've just had a shower and am sat on the sofa with the laptop, in my pj's and fluffy socks, looking at a lovely view in the distance (and a station platform out of the other window :D ). Ds is awaiting the next train to Paddington ;)

I'm going to mooch on here and do a few surveys too.

I may have missed the holiday info post so forgive me asking questions that you may have already answered but are you staying in an old train carriage on a station platform or is this a travelling train so you will be going to loads of stations??

Either way it seems that you and DS are both going to enjoy this holiday.

Hi EE, it's a mix of those - we are staying in a converted train carriage on a siding at a station in Cornwall :) Here's the link: http://www.railholiday.co.uk/

I had a fab nights sleep, only woken by one train plodding through at around 4am. Ds slept in until 8am too :T

It is a bit drizzly here this morning but ds is planning on a day of filming / train watching today anyway. We'll go out for dinner later but until then it will be a totally mooching day for me :D
