Driving with broken arm

Comments

  • You don't need a form G1 for a break less than 3 months, which most are.

its like this. i had to drive home today after my injury, it was awful (manual car).

Currently im hiding away from the family, its painful and feels like my arm is folding at times, however your all making me smile, unsure how ill sleep later.

Ohh, I do feel for you, I drove home from the swimming pool and then to the hospital after I fell and broke mine.

My cast was the same as yours, do you still have the temporary soft cast with splint on or have you had the proper hard plasticy one yet? Mine was much more comfortable after I have the proper stiff one on about 5 days after the semi hard one.

Don't forget to get yourself a waterproof cover so you can shower, you can get them online or from a disability aid shop.

I feel your pain, mine still isn't back to normal yet. Probably an age thing though.

Oh, I put a pillow under mine to sleep, it helped a lot. And co-codamol!

I came home and had a shower, i tried to stretch the pain off as it had no marks on the outside. ive broken the bone on the inside of my forearm at the elbow. i tried to avoid A&E today and go tomorrow, people deserve a day off. I ate lunch, then was forced to go.

Sleep - probably sat up tonight, i sleep on my left side :(

Try lying on your back and sticking a pillow under it. It'll stop you rolling onto your left side and will support it.

You'll be amazed and the colours it will turn over the next few weeks when you have your cast changed.

When I broke my arm, I was told that I could not drive (an auto) until GP gave me the OK. No ifs, no buts.
  • You shouldn't drive with a broken arm, how the heck will you answer the phone or send a txt . . .

So how long did your GP make you wait?

At the end of the day I'm pretty sure if you can't have full control of your car then you'll be committing an offence.
